He does have a body very similar to David Robinson and if he can develop a post game close to that he could be real special. That would be easier to develop than a dribble drive package.
I can kind of see it, the body and mannerisms are similar games not so much, but maybe he sees him doing stuff in the post.
Not to open up Pandora's box again, but I think it would be best just to leave it at "demeanor and preparation" and wash my hands of the discussion after this last thought. David Robinson made me break multiple remotes as a younger man. That dude was was a PROBLEM in the golden age of post play. I think Robinson had a sweet stroke that would have been efficient out to the 3 point line if it was more a point of emphasis back then. No problems finishing or getting to the rim plus one of the preeminent post defenders with one of the first "switchable" games for a big man. I have yet to see anything within Jabari that would even sniff the abilities of Robinson inside the 3 point line, but thats ok! Therein lies the issues with these comparisons because ultimately someone will be offended. Go to a Spurs ecosphere with that thought and see the response Lucas or no Lucas.
I don't disagree with any of that, but Lucas has coached both, so it's not just talking out of his ass. They also kind of look alike.
Jabari will be a very good role player at best. Not sure he's the 2nd guy behind Green He said he can't be sure, not that he could not be, thanks for illustrating my point. The only problem I have is him saying at best, but I am leaning towards that thinking as well. That's some selective reading.
I figured with your user name or handle you would be the perfect person to ask what to talk about on here. lol
Aw cmon man you're going to get the Crusaders riled up. Im just a dude with a super small sports talk circle that gets on here and talks too much to release energy. You need a 99er to compile that list!
I was already reading this site that year and would have signed up then if i knew it was going to get me laid a bunch in the coming years.
I appreciate we disagree on the top prospect in past years draft. You were right and me wrong in that Banchero was drafted 1. Having said that, let me ask you to look at Smith's dribbling in college and in summer league and in preseason. His competence has grown significantly with ball in hand. Tatum is not a terrible goal if we are dreaming- a huge wing who can shoot and make his own shot. If he doesn't get there and becomes a "better Battier", then I won't cry. But it'd sure be nice if he was a Tatum lite
Some good news… last night, Jabari was getting out of his seat on some highlight plays we had. No limp or anything! After seeing that, I’m pretty optimistic about him playing game 1. Not sure if anyone else noticed
Is Klay Thompson a role player to you? Just wondering what people think being a role player means. Seems to me like people think just cuz you can dribble you are a star snd if you can't, then you are just a role player. Makes zero sense to me.
Orlando in their “infinite wisdom” thought that Paolo should be a traditional PNR player in their early games. They finally allowed him to play free last night and viola! He’s not a bust anymore!
