Netflix has released the trailer for “Blockbuster,” the upcoming TV series from Vanessa Ramos (“Superstore,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) which unfolds inside the last Blockbuster Video store in America. The ten-episode workplace comedy series will follow the employees attempting to keep their beloved place of employment open for as long as possible. They include Randall Park as the store’s manager along with Melissa Fumero, Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur, Olga Merediz, JB Smoove and Kamaia Fairburn. Ramos, David Caspe, Jackie Clarke, John Davis and John Fox executive produce for Universal Television. Probably enough nostalgia out there to do a mockumentary Office-style video store show set in the late 80s to early 90s.
"Video Town" in my westside strip center was the bomb. I'd tell my little brother to get my mom to ask questions with the owner guy (family friend, neighborhood friend), and while they were distracted I'd sneak behind the curtain and look at the boobs on the porno covers
"From the creators of Happy Endings." Happy Endings was a pretty underrated show. I'll give this a chance. but I hate sitcoms.
Happy Endings was incredibly underrated. I don't think you can find a higher density of high quality comedy packed into 30 minutes. It's tragic that show didn't get a longer run.
