I'm guessing the surgeries involved either getting fatty tissue on breasts removed or starting hormone treatment to develop breasts. Considering how common it is for steroid abusers to get gyno, and that steroid abuse is more common among adolescents that participate in sports than there are adolescents that identify as transgender, I don't quite understand the outrage.

What's with the obsession over teenage genitals by a demographic of message board posters that probably are clocking in their 50s to 60s? They know steroid abuse and PED use runs rampant in high school, college, professional and Olympic sports. They know it circulates in other sports like MMA. They post many times in threads regarding these very sports on this same message board. Why is there zero legitimate concern over the livelihood and well being of high school athletes pressured to take PEDs in order to get recruited to the top college sports programs in the nation? Why is there no concern for PED use that circulates in professional circuits? Money. The billions in money that can be generated off these athletes. It's especially weird to me that politicians and basketball posters are so concerned with this issue above say the January 6th insurrection, Trump's holding of classified documents in an unsecured facility, that all significant Texas politicians are still in bed with Trump as they campaign entering the November elections, one with a criminal indictment of fraud in Ken Paxton that he's evaded for years, the overturning of Roe v Wade, the Ukraine/Russian war, the recent hurricanes that swept through Florida and Carolinas, the bigger overall topic of climate change in general and how that's going to massively affect millions in and outside of the United States, which will not only have humanitarian impacts but economic impacts that may prove more costly in delaying than properly addressing, among a myriad of other issues, YET I am supposed to be more concerned over 20 teenagers at least 16 years of age with parental consent that got boob jobs or had breast reduction surgery at Vanderbilt. Also all those procedures done on the 20 teens was privately funded. Not tax funded. Why the **** is their healthcare which should be protected under HIPAA any of mine or anyone else's ******* business? Why is this a topic of such heated debate for conservatives that offer no tangible legislation instead that could actually benefit their own voting constituency? Why always culture war **** that attacks an already underrepresented demographic of people that are already greatly inhibited from receiving healthcare compared to the average citizen? I don't get it other than it's a sleight of hand to distract from the more pressing issues that are affecting people by the tens to hundreds of millions in this nation from which these same conservative politicians do NOTHING to help. My age and professional role do not lead to me being deprived of having an opinion. My opinion is that surgical or chemical intervention should only be an option for people of legal age. You can feel free to disagree.
