The Republicans are a complete disgrace. They are content to fold to the sociopath Trump. They are controlled by folks who only real goal is to keep their taxes low, minimum wage and employee health care costs low and continue to redistribute money up to the .00001 to 1 percent. They will pretend to be anti abortionists, against being transgendered, against pot smoking, gay rights, history lessons about slavery, nonexistent voting fraud, even their fellow IVY elitist grads as two of their current heroes Ted Cruz and DeSantis are, whatever it takes

Human greed is a scary thing. The Republicans cater to those type of folks. Why spend money helping the poor and needy when we can enrich ourselves while distracting the common folks with scare tactics.

So you support no price caps on Medicare prescriptions for Seniors? Let Big Pharma charge whatever they want? Biden passed that legislation while all the Republicans voted against it.

I’m assuming Republicans are against Biden’s mar1juana announcement even though 2/3 of Americans support legalization?

They”re really shooting themselves in the foot if you combine that with their anti-student loan forgiveness and anti-abortion crusade.

Yeah, apparently Foxnews.com ran with a "Reefer Madness" headline and also called it a "blunt move" when announced. Now they've buried Biden's announcement near near the bottom of their homepage, which means tomorrow the Republican party will be taking credit for it.

    All true, @glynch

They are. Logically, they are, yet look at the poll numbers. Democrats should be able to crush the GOP in November, a few weeks away, yet while holding or even increasing Democratic numbers in the Senate looks very possible to this Democrat, I'm far from feeling good about the House. Republican gerrymandering in several states have clearly trampled on the civil rights of minorities. This has been helped greatly because Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court led a successful effort to drastically weaken the Civil Rights Act several years back.

That effort by Roberts had a huge impact, one that continues today. Roberts likes to pose as more moderate than the extremists who now make up a majority of the SC, but he made possible much of the efforts of the Republican Party to corrupt the vote that we are seeing today, in my opinion. Ironically, the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964 thanks in large part to the efforts of Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen, a very influential Republican leader, who helped break the Southern Democratic filibuster of the Act.

Many will point to the inflation we are all having to deal with as the cause of the headwinds Democratic candidates are facing in November. That ignores the fact that the inflation we're experiencing is due to the Pandemic and Putin, trump's "good friend" that he still praises today, deciding to invade Ukraine, one of Europe's largest democracies. Both the Pandemic and Russia invading Ukraine are events outside of the purview of our political parties.

Yet President Biden and the Democratic Party will be blamed for much of it when people vote. An enormous mistake on the part of the voters if they chose to forget what the Republican Party, under the sway of trump, is doing to our country. In my humble opinion.

I love how all the college educated people try to tell republicans how bad college is so that the base can remain overwhelmingly dumb and uneducated

Ted Cruz attacking college education…meanwhile he went to Princeton and Harvard and the chances of him being where he’s at without his education are drastically lower

the real issue they have with college is that kids might be around a diverse group of people and open up their mind discovering that all the close minded bullsh*t they’ve been fed their entire life is a load of crap

the more intelligent or educated u are and the more u get to know different people and cultures, the less likely u are to fall for republican bullsh*t

that’s what this attack on college is really about

Yup exposure to ideas that aren't traditoinally conservative christian "values" is the main fear these parents have. They don't want to have their child visit them and have their own child look at to them funny when they go on rants about "fags". They don't want to feel guilty about their insular views.

Now your elite GOP politician definitely doesn't think that. The elite GOP politician doesn't live an insular life and often do interact with humans that aren't part of the traditional conservative tribe. Hence why conservative heroes like Reagan and his wife had many positive relationships with individual gay celebrities. They want their child to attend college because they know that it's a requirement to join the elite circles their children were promised. But they will put the fear of God to the median conservative family about their children being brainwashed in liberal indoctrination camps.
