Wasn't there usually an off day between the end of the season and the wild card games? They're basically continuing that... I do think baseball needs to do a better job of marketing the post-season (which is universally loved by all those who actually get into it). That means less games at 11am. Optimize weekend games. It will be a fun weekend, unless all the series end after 2 games.
Wish they released the times for the ALDS sooner, but we'll probably get the shaft anyway. Hopefully no earlier than 1 pm, but hopefully like 4 pm would be nice to miss less work.
Sure, but that was when there was only one game in each league, and they played the games on separate days still.
Even his worst season is still pretty good, but $300 million good? Absolutely not. They could get a guy for a 1/4th of that price probably that can throw a 3.5 in a year.
I hate the way they lined up the schedule. The top 4 seeds earned their place over the massive 162 grind, yet they schedule a day off after the WC series and a day off after game 1, and another day off after game 2 to nullify their advantage. The top 2 starters are still gonna be able to start games 2 and 3 on full rest, and the bullpens should be plenty rested also only playing at most 5 games in 9 days. The wild card survivors are basically gonna start on even footing regardless of how the first round plays. If anything I think we could see the top seeds looking a little less than sharp.
well the flip side is the ace isn't on full rest if it goes the distance, while JV will be on full rest if needed for game 4 or 5 WC team will need to throw out a bottom starter to start the series and they can't even use their best pitcher when if it gets to do or die
Don't forget they had revenge on their mind as well for '04 and '05, including the 18 inning heartbreaker where they blew a huge lead.
I wouldn't call him a reporter. I don't think he writes articles. More of a radio/podcast personality.
