Purchasing an NBA team you are a fan of is the ultimate ego purchase. It's the end of the road purchase once you've successfully won the game of capitalism. I was never thrilled with him being the new owner because of the way he got to where he is, but nonetheless part of me hoped that the Rockets would be different because it's such a vanity asset that he is more emotionally invested in.

But nope, the Rockets are no different from Joe's Crab Shack to him, cut those corners. He's done absolutely nothing to put this franchise in a better place aside from getting extremely lucky with the lottery balls.

Happy for Tilly and his Vegas strip purchase. I hope he makes a bunch of money but he did close his wallet when we needed it most during our contention years. That’s all fact.
