That's like saying "it's okay if we lose Jalen Green because we have Garrison Mathews"

Christopher and Washington are barely NBA caliber players... maybe one day they'll be backup caliber, but as of now they are back off the bench types.

The "it's okay to lose the team's best young players because we have young bench scrubs" nonsense needs to cease.

Losing KPJ, Green, Sengun, or Smith would absolutely NOT be "okay" unless the return was a star.

That’s what I’m trying say lol. It’s okay to lose KPJ bc we have TyTy and Josh, like what?! They couldn’t even dominate SL competition lol

If you paid attention to that draft, you’d know KPJ slipped bc of off the court issues. Otherwise, he would’ve been a lottery pick

They were both drafted higher than Manu Ginobili too... Hasheem Thabeet and Royce White were drafted higher than all of them.

Turns out that arguement is kind of embarrassing.

Why Scoot? The league isn’t short of combo guards.

    Or find another combo guard….

KPJ isn’t dictating the future of the Rockets.

It’s about talent. We’re still not sure that Jalen is that guy yet. We need to keep bringing in elite talent

And you think KPJ is an elite talent in the NBA?

Absolutely. Doesn’t mean he’s gonna put it all together and maximize it.

But not at the Scoot level… which is who you brought up.

I think the Rockets will be fine if they let KPJ go.

I trust the front office more than any of you. When they extend him, all of this will be put to bed

It would set them back about as much as if they let Jalen Green go. Could they still be "fine" despite such a stupid decision? Sure it's possible.... but it would be making things unnecessarily difficult for absolutely no reason.

If they extend him. He’s got the season to prove it.

It is often that younger guys will get paid based on their potential, without really showing enough to warrant the deal they get. I think KPJ fits in that category. He is now 22.5 years old, and he has had a TON of opportunity to prove himself, more so than if he were on any other team. People bring up his one 50 point game, that was great and i felt there was potential right after it, but since, I mean he has not shown much. At this age if you are going to pay someone you need more evidence of him being a winner. None of the guys on the roster have shown they can will the team to wins on their own, and those are the types of guys you pay a max to when rebuilding, unless you already have those guys and you have someone really good at their role and need to sign them to get you over the top to get to a championship, which we are far from.

How many times has KPJ single handedly won us games by just taking over? I just don't see it. He is a $10-$12M a year guy, not a $20M/year guy.

Just as the Texans are using this season to determine if Mills is the QB of the future, the Rockets need to use this season to determine what they have at the PG position. I really hope that TyTy and Nix get some quality minutes to show us what they have to offer.

They obviously aren't extending him. It's a pointless argument. Only a select group of bums think it's a good idea
