We know you don't like Black people. Not on Merit? LOL. He had around 1800 wins as a manager when he got the job. You are ****ing delusional.

So because we think Dumbo is a garbage manager we're racist? You're the biggest idiot on this board which says a lot.

For the record I like Dumbo as a person

Continue your meltdown. Probably put the bottle away if you want to have a honest conversation

Howabout start by ceasing the disrespectful names as a start.

If you feel Dusty has performed at a level that should result in him no longer being the Astros manager, fine.

FYI I am happy to read your explanation, but as much as his lineups make me crazy, I have to admit he continues to manage a winning team.

But name calling and insulting him speak volumes about YOUR character not his.

It's ridiculous and annoying on this forum, and it's the same 4 or so guys who for some reason think they're being clever.

I have a high opinion of him as a person. I think he's a good guy. He's a terrible manager. I haven't called him anything vulgar or multiple names. Simply Dumbo.

He definitely hasn't performed at any time (not just us) with the talent he's been provided. 0 WS wins as a manager. His lineups are awful and he refuses to adjust.

He was part of our penalty which tells you all you need to know. My interest is in the Astros winning a WS and I obviously hope we do that but I think we win despite Jim not with him. Dubon and Yuli shouldn't be regulars yet he continues to play them. It's absurd

You said it yourself. Name calling.

And you are so cavalier about it.

Clearly you are the type of person who does not understand respect.

I do not agree with many of Dusty's lineups and Dubon and Yuli are chief among the issues.

However the objective is to win while keeping players healthy and fresh for the playoffs.

    103 wins and counting.

2nd best record in team history- a team that has been to 4 World Series.

Maybe he knows more about baseball than you and I do?

I don't think calling him Dumbo is a big deal. I guess we can agree to disagree there.

I don't owe any respect to Dumbo. I don't know him.

Like I said, if we win it will be despite him. He's terrible

He doesn’t call 70-year old men childish names like a preschooler at recess who thinks he is being edgy.

Racism real or imagined is an uninteresting topic that means nothing to me. The Astros have days to determine Meyers condition and play-ability. Dusty has no intention of doing that. Meyers has been left on the bench while those few days slip away. Race has nothing to do with it. The latest metrics or being stuck in the past has nothing to do with it. What Dusty is doing is not logical or easy to accept. The Astros may have a center fielder that can get them through the play-offs and into the world series but it appears we will never know because our manager is quite literally going insane. Dementia is real. It creeps into the lives of hundreds of our older friends and relatives every day. Dependable minds begin to slip slowly and in the saddest cases disappear altogether. My father had one of the sharpest intellects I ever saw. He died unable to make simple decisions and was angry and frighteningly confused. I expected him to understand me when I explained to him that he was bleeding internally because I was unable to accept how far he had gone. To me his behavior seemed inexplicable. Having lived with it for many years the early signs look obvious to me now, perhaps to the point of imagining I can see them. The triumph of hope over experience is always possible.

Well this is about as silly/terrible as the internet gets.

A bunch of armchair managers disagree with the decisions a professional sports team makes and therefore it means a complete stranger to them is either a racist or demented. No one is better for having read this stuff.

I can call him whatever I want. You're free to ignore me. He'll be Dumbo until he's gone. It has nothing to do with being edgy and everything to do with him being a trash manager. Notice I didn't do that to anyone else. Baker is garbage as a manager. Cry about it more though

He's treating this games as if they matter by playing his regulars for the full 9 rather than figure out if Hensley or Meyers are playoff playable... Meyers now getting the Yanier treatment.

Teams (good or bad) with nothing to play for playing their best (for the most part) players down the stretch against teams that are in contention has been a thing in MLB for as long as I can remember.

Doubt there was ever any expectation that Yainer was going to be a call-up impact bat or make the playoff roster.

I don't pretend to understand all of Dusty's line-up decisions or the interplay between Click and Dusty.... but as I've said before, a 100 win team rolling into the playoffs probably isn't all that worried about the last 1-2 spots on the active roster. If Click ends up giving Dusty Meyers vs Hensley, it's a big whatever. Dusty will roll with that.

I'm okay with rolling a top 6 offense/top pitching staff (by fWAR) into the playoffs and seeing what happens. Super unlikely any marginal move like Hensley over Meyers, etc... is gonna change the outcome.

I said at the time that Yainer was a strictly educational callup. I also said they need to strongly encourage him to spend a month in the offseason living and working out with Maldy.

Yep. That's pretty much what that Chronicle article from a few weeks ago said.

Nook has said several times that Diaz didn't seem all that interested in catching. His call-up seemed like both a needed educational experience on what it takes to be a successful major league catcher but also a big wake-up call that the Astros see that as his primary value.

It's perfect that he gets to stay with the club on the taxi squad, soaking up all those lessons, but not eating up a roster spot where he was going to be played sparingly anyway.

Hadn't seen that, those are some great & promising quotes from Diaz.
