It is the greatest contribution Minnesota has made to the World. ;)

I know that when I think culinary innovation, I think Scandinavians.

I'd heard of them before but I thought there was an additional special ingredient/feature to it. Had no idea I'd been making them, and various variations of them, for years. Next time you're making one at home go TexMex and use queso (make it, chill it until it hardens, profit).

Hate to tell you this but there are Tex-Mex Lucys. There are all kind of them. Because I'm an elitist hipster I like the kind with goat cheese and spinach.

Word, I'm glad you guys have figured out how to move beyond plain american cheese. ;) Spinach, garlic and feta/goat cheese with roasted red peppers and onions on top has been a go-to "greek" burger for me for a long time. You have good taste.

Ok, I'm confused. What manner of witchcraft allows you to put cheese inside a hamburger as opposed to on it?

Half lb of meat, divided in half and pressed thin (1/4? inch). put cheese/extras in middle of 1 patty (resist temptation to overload), leave about 1/2" around edge. Place 2nd patty on top and pinch/press edges all around to seal (holes are bad, cheese leaks and makes a mess). Flip on plate and sort of gently mush down to make it more uniform (not a big bulge on 1 side and totally flat on the other). Cook until desired doneness.

Agreed. Also anyone from Florida shouldn't try to get big MLB contracts either. And Californians due to their fires. And Cubans shouldn't due to the hurricanes either. That will fix everything.

Is that burger breaded and deep fried? The origin of the breaded burger with the cheese on the inside is Warsaw Indiana. In the late 1960s & early 70's while I was a student at the high school there I often took my noon meals at Bud's Billiard Academy. The proprietor expected me and started fixing one as soon as I came in. I never had to speak unless I had money to add fries or a drink. I ate those dangerously molten burgers while shooting pool. I could have lunch and get in a couple of games with time enough to walk back to school in time for my first afternoon class if the snow wasn't too deep.

Hope Carlos reads his thread here.
Might need something to do while his old pals (Astros) play and he sits at home.

He can probably find plenty of things to do with his $35MM.

He was the 2nd highest paid position player in baseball this year and gets another opportunity at a monster contract. I'm not sure why'd want a do-over.
