Well, some idiots were riding it out in their tiny boats so I wouldnt be surprised if there was a party of folks in that house.
Just learned that our granddaughter's boyfriend's house he rents was destroyed. One of his motorcycles is OK, the other ended up on top of a shed. His house was in Englewood which is a bit north of where the storm hit. Our friends in Venice still have no power, internet or cell service. If they don't have power tomorrow, they will come stay at our house until they can go back. We'll be leaving for Africa Tuesday, so that will work out well for them.
I'm curious if that guy made it -- can't find anything which seems like bad news because I know other news crews would be searching for him since his interview went viral.
Central TX about to get hit by hurricane remnants and a cold front merging together. ______ Rain, severe storm risk Monday https://www.kxan.com/weather/weather-blog/timeline-rain-severe-storm-risk-monday/amp/
I just got pummeled coming out of the grocery store by sideways rain and tropical storm force winds. I was the guy with the demolished umbrella that basically got pulled outward and broken while putting groceries in my car while I battled to stay alive. I was soaken wet. That was fun.
That'll teach ya to go get groceries in the rain! We've had a nice strong steady rain all day. I haven't seen anything crazy yet, but I may have slept through it... no idea. Definitely need this, though.
That's what I like to call a Clark Griswold moment. I also have these often and they are funny even when it happens to you. Bonus points if kids are nearby laughing at your misfortune.
It was funny because, after the battle with getting the groceries in the trunk, I had trouble getting the car door open. Something about the electronic unlock mechanism not working 100% because the door handle was wet. I finally got it to work. lol. The whole thing was a Griswold train wreck. You couldn’t have scripted it better IMO. From the moment I came out of the grocery store until I got in my car, it was comedy gold.
