Doesn’t matter Brian. AL West champions Brian. Looking forward to the playoffs.

    This is a non-story.

I agree it's a little weird, but Click's future to some extent probably does pend on how we perform in the playoffs, which probably isn't fair. The bottom line is our expectations are different than pretty much any other team, and it is what it is.

I generally like Click. I don't think he's perfect, and I think others could have done a commendable job, but it's hard to completely criticize him for his tenure.

You are the worst poster on this Astros forum. I know the tendency is to look past elderly people but the vast majority of your comments are lined with ignorance, some of them have the harmless “I don’t know **** about baseball” variety of ignorance, but a lot of your comments have the “I think white males are oppressed, I think actual racism is a farce, and I easily buy dangerous conspiracy theories” kind of ignorance. Please post less, dude.

Please ignore me since you want an echo chamber. I lived through REAL racism in it's many forms. Not this FAKE virtue signalling one size fits all stuff.

Why wouldn’t you trust Crane at this point?

He brought in Luhnow. He brought in Dusty (they could have done worse). He brought in Click. And now he feels he may not be the right guy….

My only concern is that Crane is grooming the franchise to be sold, but not much fans can do to worry about that.

Ahhhh.... the irony.. coming from someone who says Baker is racist because he starts Hispanic players over white players.

It's just a form of RACISM. Generalization of race which ignore variability within races is a form of racism. It is often used even now by anti-semites, which is fuzzy as a race anyway. But you may do the same if it disturbs YOU so much that there is variability in forms of racism.

Stop it. You honestly are proving to be a negative in here. Gain enough momentum and people have been banned for less…

Our beloved Astros forum has turned into longtime reputable posters shadow boxing random trolls with the occasional informative post from @Nook and a few others.

The ignore feature works. Stop giving them what they want.

He brought in Luhnow, give him a huge dub on that one. Bringing in Dusty and a GM he decided to fire quickly, why should we view those as good choices?

Right now he is coasting on Luhnow's success as much as the on field product. Crane has no actual track record of great hires, he has one. And if he's gonna stick his nose in constantly and demand a GM that "makes big moves" why would a great GM want to be here?

Well Dusty was definitely a transitional move… never going to be a long-term manager here, needed somebody to stabilize the shaky ship and continue to optimize results… I’d say he’s done that. Like I said before, he could have done worse there.

As far as Click goes, if he feels the trajectory isn’t approaching what he feels is important for long-term success, why not make a move now? Wait 3-5 years and if things deteriorate, may require another massive rebuild which Crane has already said he has no desire of being a part of (indicating he’d likely sell the team).

I don’t think he wants a GM who simply makes big moves, as much as one who can optimize the MLB-ready-to-win-now window. I do believe the CF black hole (Click seems to have hitched his job to Meyers), Crane seeing how Click has handled negotiations (and had to step in personally), and their day-to-day working relationship has all led to the smoke in the room.

Yes, this was already a finished product. Not much Click or anybody else could have done to screw it up… minus irresponsibly trading young players for washed up versions. It likely has produced more than people thought was available given the rise of the young pitching. If Crane feels Click is more suited to being a wingman or 2nd in command, vs. the “guy”, I’d rather they figure that out now vs. later when there’s still a solid 3 year window of contention ahead of them.
