He probably defends better than anyone on our team at this point. We have a lot of guys with a high ceiling to develop though. If we are attempting to win he would get significant minutes, but...

The answer? No, but he will be a decent stop gap.

He has some value for a veteran team. Been over the hill from his busty staus for quite awhile, but still good enough to get some backup minutes somewhere else.

His contract is a trade facilitator.

If this 29 win team finds an answer at backup C, i can see 30 wins in our future.

he was acquired for a few reasons, none of which involve him playing basketball.

if we were trying to win he should get noteworthy backup minutes... but we're not... so he probably wont...

I mean if after this year he wanted to play for the vet min in a backup role... i'd consider it... serviceable in a limited capacity and maybe a vet presence for the youngsters and all...

but more than likely, his is just a contract that Stone feels he can at least mine a srp for... and will be gone before the trade deadline...

Favors us head and shoulders better than Fernando and more playable than Boban.

Is he better than that atrocious slow footed boston center we had?

Of course he is a better defender right now than them. He's been in the league and has *actual experience defending NBA caliber centers in over 790 NBA games. Hopefully we can use that experience to accelerate our new guys who have amazing high ceilings. It's silly though to compare them to seasoned veterans, it will take a bit of time.

If he was taller then yes. He is about same height as Garuba therefor the will be playing Garuba at that role.

Answer to what? Lol. We’re trying to develop our young players. Giving any kind of minutes to a 30 year old journeyman is a waste of everyone’s time. Dump him for what you can.

Boban is already a perfect fit. Great locker room guy and vet, requires no playing time and can fill in for an emergency.

    Favors is 6'9 barefoot.

He is closer to Sengun's height than Garuba.

And his 7'4 wingspan puts him at another level.

We are a rebuilding team. Nobody is “the answer” except for a future superstar. I like the deal though and I think the Rockets could use him in a deal as he’s very serviceable to a playoff team. For us though, let’s be real guys… I’m excited as anyone, but we are going to be bad again this year and still likely to be gunning for another #1 pick. Favors has no business making this team marginally better just to take our wins from 25 to 30.
