The Rockets plan to immediately waive Jerome, a person with knowledge of the team’s thinking said. Harkless could fill a role similar to Brown’s, but that could make it difficult to make the team with the Rockets' roster crowded at the wing spots. They will consider the preseason a chance to evaluate Maledon with Favors, a veteran center, considered the most likely of the group to make the roster. The deal, however, was made more for the pick, allowing the Rockets to exchange four players that were a long shot to make the team to get a second-round pick at the expense of $900,000 in added salary. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...OKC-Thunder-trade-Derrick-Favors-17476868.php
Always like Derek favors solid pick up. Can package him and Gordon at the deadline to a contender for some more picks.
LOL, so it boils down to: the team got a 2nd rounder and a bunch of spare parts plus Tilman got $5.4M for a bunch of spare parts.
Maledon should stay. Favors is a PF. I think he should be waived. I hope the 2025 2nd round pick is useful.
Both the Rockets and Thunder are better off cap wise after this deal. The Rockets get straight up cash, and the Thunder move 10 million under luxury tax. Strategically, the Thunder now have two trade exceptions, and the Rockets now have a 2nd rounder.
Interest rates are high these days. Shut up and listen!: Would you rather go to the bank and ask for 5.4 m smackers, at 6% - or give em a year of Nwabatime. Smart business. It's why some of us people have yachts that have baby yachts, and some don't.
I wanted something done with the x Dallas lot and Nwaba was redundant. Not a trajectory changing type of trade, for sure. It seems overall, we are slightly better off though.
No it's not they got a second round pick for players that were either going to be be left off the roster or that would never play.
