I absolutely love this country, which is why I support Trump. I'm sure the country also appreciated my parents not staying illegal for very long.... In fact I don't think they were here illegally for longer than a year if that. They worked hard, paid taxes and became American citizens as soon as they could. But you love bringing it up because you absolutely hate my political leaning. Even when I have stated I support immigration but disagree with the governments irresponsible handling of the border crisis. Yeah, I think millions of immigrants crossing the border and flooding border states is not good. Not good for the country, not good for the state and not good for the people here. I also stated that I believe immigration is the foundation for a great country. Whether legal or illegal. Immigration is what strengthens countries. But you don't like that part, focus on the points you can use to spew hatred.

Screw all that nonsense, I'm not a fake moderate like @Os Trigonum but a real one. You know that without illegal immigration this country would not function in the same manner. Who is being subcontracted to build houses? Fill in positions that citizens won't work because of low pay? Get your head our of your ass and realize until the employers and government both stop allowing this to occur and be held accountable it will continue to happen.
All I hear is my parents were illegal immigrants that came into the states illegally and luckily became citizens over time. They broke the rules also, but my parents are special folk who escaped a special war. And who said illegal immigration does not help this country function? I've stated repeatedly that immigration whether legal or illegal is important. Although your non racist view and support of immigration is pretty racist and a generalization that hard labor is tied in to immigrants who build houses but I'll enlighten you. What happens when you have two people looking for the same job? Or three? Or four... Maybe try 20.... The demand for the job drops to insanely low numbers that the wages for the job are extremely low... I can tell you for a fact illegal immigrants working construction do not want more illegal immigrants competing with them for their jobs. Because either wages drop so low that they will earn next to nothing for hard labor or lose their jobs all together for that person that just got here and absolutely needs to eat. So what's the solution? Allow illegal immigrants to function like legal citizens and have employment? Well now you are pissing off those who were born here because that Target or Best Buy position is a lottery draw for the 500+ people applying for the same job. Immigration totally works, when the industries and markets in this country can handle it. The number is not infinite. Not every person that crosses the border will find employment. Not finding consistent employment and finances will result in poverty. High poverty areas also are high crime areas. I would like a better visa system that allows people to come to this country and work. Not because they would now be "legal" but because this will allow for more people to take their chances applying and working towards a visa than risking their lives trying to get here. Not every one can get in but more people should be getting in legally...

Maybe this is the instance I'm remembering, did you hear the reporter at 44 seconds? "The rumors of an imminent lockdown" and then Ardern references don't panic prepare. In this instance (not sure about the other now) referencing the Gov as being the only true source of info on if / when a lockdown is going into effect is hardly an act of evil.

I just watched that whole clip and she said she doesn’t have the solution but more spelled out the problems. I would wait to see what specifics of any before having a solid opinion. On a personal note I just booked a flight to New Zealand. Am going there in early December. Am not dissuaded by there “evil” and “dangerous” PM.
So your parents only broke the law for about a year but it’s not ok for the current migrants to be coming here the way your parents did? FYI my parents came here legally. According to some posters I should be resenting you and your parents for not going through the channels my parents did. Spoiler I don’t and I’m glad to hear you and your parents came here even if it was initially illegal but are now are a part of this country. I think we should extend that to many more.
