Call me sleepy on her authoritarianism, but this is what I'll mostly pay attention to.

I think the left made her a Covid hero, but you'd have to prod me to care whether she wins or loses an island several thousand of miles away from me.

New Zealand PM Ardern Has Lowest Approval Since 2017 Victory
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern slipped further in popularity and her Labour Party could face an uphill struggle to retain power next year, a new political poll shows.

Ardern’s rating as preferred prime minister fell to 30% from 33% in May, according to a 1News Kantar poll conducted in the first week of August. Her rating is the lowest since she became prime minister in 2017. The poll was published late Monday in Wellington.

Ardern has come under pressure as soaring inflation pushes up the cost of food and fuel, and starts to erode consumer and business confidence. She also faces a main opposition National Party that has been revived under new leader and former Air New Zealand boss Christopher Luxon, signaling a tough battle at the next election which must be held by late 2023.

Meet the Ex-Airline Chief Seeking to Topple New Zealand’s Ardern

Luxon still trails Ardern in the preferred prime minister measure with a 22% reading, down from 25% in May, but has turned the tide from a year ago when his predecessors scored single figures.

At a party level, National has headed Labour in the past three polls. It had 37% support this month down from 39% in May while Labour support fell to 33% from 35%.

National and its center-right ally ACT had a combined 48% support while Labour and its ally the Green Party had a total of 42%. This suggests National-ACT would hold a majority in parliament, 1News reported.

BTW, glib charges of Authoritarianism sounds either like projection or crying wolf when Covid restrictions are being relaxed because of elections and poll numbers not in spite of.

America just had a sitting president attempting to overturn election results, yet it's folks from that same party crying Authoritarianism and power grabs.

Stop being over dramatic like the "crazy and frothing" woke left that's been making the internet insufferable.

That is the epitome of evil? Does the tweeter know the meaning of 'epitome' or 'evil'?

I think there's a pretty good argument to be made that the self-righteous self-assuredness that you are singly responsible for being the "source of truth" is a contender for epitome of evil. Hitler, poster child of evil, was certainly self-confidently self-assured that he had a lock on the truth that the Jews were bad.

I think it's that character trait that qualifies as potentially evil

Hate is a strong word. I don't know who you assume I hate but you don't know me at all outside of a Rockets message board. I don't hate anyone for the record

Will give you credit for tagging me though

I follow NZ a bit, IIRC it was referencing (early in the pandemic for them) online rumors about a change in the lockdown level for one of their regions, something that the Gov would clearly be the source for, that being said yeah it reads and sounds bad out of context.

I'm pretty sure when folks think of Hitler as being evil it wasn't because of that character trait u are referencing about. More like giving out the order to commit mass genocide of jews is the big one.

Trump has a similar mindset, every news against him was fake and he only spoke the truth.

I don't think folks were calling him the epitome of evil, more like he was dangerous to democracy itself.

Dangerous mindset sure, but she hasn't really commit any evil actions to my knowledge to where it would spark this type of outrage/condemnation. Plus it's NZ. Most Americans don't really care about that country or its leader, if we are being honest.

Sure there is. And if all context was removed, I'd agree with you.

She made her claim in response to false stories put out by foreign propoganda making claims about her administration.

It is by no means to claim that unless claims about what her administration has done comes from them it isn't the truth.

Yes - to be precise, I should have said that not only does she have a lot of potential to be evil, but her inhumane and authoritarian actions when she had power were similarly anti-freedom to one of the most evil regimes on earth (the CCP). Ardern, Trudeau, Newsom...those types are "fake compassionate" but, when given the chance, will try to silence any dissent and will be as authoritarian as the CCP.

    Yes. EXACTLY like the CCP.

Who knew you were such a drama queen? This seems to be something in the last year or so.
