Terrific, they moved the All Star Game from Atlanta for no reason last year and now this, they're gonna beat the Astros in the WS again.

    I forgot why
Was it because there’s no trans bathroom or the city didn’t have enough black people so they went to Denver

you may disagree with their reasoning, but they did have reasons for moving and they were pretty clear about it. also, last i checked the MLB is a private business and if they decided to move that is their right. as a consumer you have a right to not watch. if you think they went woke or whatever then quit watching. its want trump wants you to do. see the article below. trump told you to stop watching baseball.

    nope and nope.

MLB moving 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta over Georgia voting law

Major League Baseball announced Friday that it is moving the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta in response to a new Georgia law that has civil rights groups concerned about its potential to restrict voting access for people of color.

The 2021 MLB draft, a new addition to All-Star Game festivities this year, will also be relocated.

In a statement, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said the league is "finalizing a new host city and details about these events will be announced shortly." A source told ESPN that the 2022 All-Star Game is still planned for Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and that that site won't be moved up to fill the void this summer.

"Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views," Manfred said in his statement. "I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year's All-Star Game and MLB Draft.

"Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box. In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game's unwavering support."

The Atlanta Braves said they were "deeply disappointed" by the outcome.

"This was neither our decision, nor our recommendation and we are saddened that fans will not be able to see this event in our city," the team said in a statement. "The Braves organization will continue to stress the importance of equal voting opportunities and we had hoped our city could use this event as a platform to enhance the discussion. Our city has always been known as a uniter in divided times and we will miss the opportunity to address issues that are important to our community.

"Unfortunately, businesses, employees and fans in Georgia are the victims of this decision."

The Players Alliance, consisting of more than 100 current and former players who have united in an effort to empower Black communities, came out in support of MLB's decision with a statement that read in part: "We want to make our voice heard loud and clear in our opposition of the recent Georgia legislation that not only disproportionately disenfranchises the Black community, but also paves the way for other states to pass similarly harmful laws based largely on widespread falsehoods and disinformation."

The White House said President Joe Biden supports the decision as well.

"The President has made his concerns about the bill passed in Georgia clear, given its extreme provisions that impact the ability of so many citizens to cast their votes," the White House said. "He said earlier this week that if the decision was made by Major League Baseball to move the All-Star game, he would certainly support that decision - and now that MLB has made that choice, he certainly does.''

In a statement, former President Donald Trump blasted the move and urged his supporters to "boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections.'' Former President Barack Obama, meanwhile, lauded the decision as honoring the legend of Braves great Hank Aaron.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed into law last week a sweeping, Republican-sponsored bill that includes new restrictions on voting by mail and greater legislative control over how elections are run. The bill, which also prohibits volunteers from distributing food and water for voters waiting in line, was finalized on March 25 roughly 15 miles from the Braves' stadium, Truist Park.

It was a stupid, political, BS reason to move the game - which harmed nobody but the local people and economy of Atlanta. Basically, it was we don't like republican lawmakers in your state and we will hurt yalls wallets as a result.

    Dumb.

I love it when libs play the "its a private business they can do what they want" card....unless of course it a bakery selling to homosexuals, lockdown decisions, and vaccine protocols - then they HAVE to do it even if they are a private business.

    Dumb.

you said "they moved the All Star Game from Atlanta for no reason" and now youre saying "It was a stupid, political, BS reason".

so which is it...there was no reason or there was a reason. and as i already said, you can disagree, but its false to say they did it for no reason.

This is where I am on this issue as well.

The idea that all native american symbolism/naming in sports is offensive or racist baffles me. Braves is not insulting Native Americans.

Redskins was clearly a derogatory name about Native Americans. It makes sense that it was criticized and changed. But like Chiefs? Braves? Seminoles? Why are these offensive unless accompanied by offensive logos? They aren't mocking these people.

I think the more thoughtful and meaningful conclusion from this sentiment is the fact that a large chunk of Conservative Christian activism is revolved around the sacred human right of denying people service for a trait they were born with.

That probably is a more important conclusion to draw here. It says a lot about their headspace.

I have tended to defer to people in the particular group that is involved.

Having said that, from most of what I have read, there isn't really an agreement in the Native community that the names are offensive. Even a fairly decent amount of Natives didn't think the Redskins should change their name.

My wife has a very good Native friend that grew up on a Reservation in Canada and is Ojibwe.

I asked him how he felt about Redskins, Black Hawks, Braves and Indians. He looked at me and laughed.... and said

"The US and Canadian governments committed genocide, raped us of our culture, our land and our way of life. They didn't even do us the favor of killing us all. So here we are, ghosts of our people long dead and a shame to our ancestors because we rape our women and drink our lives away. You really think we give a **** what you name your sports team or your river or town? "

So I am pretty sure it really an issue for white people, so while people feel better about themselves..... and no I am never asking another Native American about trivial issues.

But do you see how the right wing media so successfully frames conversations?

This conversation is based on a reporter asking the White House about the name and them merely saying "we'll leave it up to Native American groups to determine that" and now you'll see countless memes and click bait headlines on all the platforms about how now the White House is doing another woke agenda thing trying to cancel the Atlanta Braves.

Of course. I don't think it is going to get a lot of traction though.
