Yes there are so many easier ways to take out the pipeline including just turning it off in Germany. This is a strange situation which is more reason to not jump to conclusions.

Big thing is that if the nordstream pipelines aren't fixed immediately, the salt water will corrode the pipelines and basically make them permanently unusable.

This will likely result in a permanent loss of capacity as I doubt the pipelines will be saved. The irony of this of course is that with the loss of these pipelines, Russia's primary gas link to Europe is the pipeline corridor through Ukraine.

Europe really needs to get as many LNG terminals as possible over the next year. I think they'll make it through this winter without Russian gas but they can't keep doing that.

Just so you know, much of this LNG will come from the US, which will cause our natural gas prices to go way up here at home. Another example of insane foreign policy leading to inflation in the USA.

LNG can't go live on that scale for at least a year (and probably longer). That has nothing to do with inflation today.

Yes, it absolutely does. Natural gas prices are way up, in part because domestic supply is being shipped to Europe and other places.

This is what not training your conscripts earns you. This Dagestani conscript is firing an RPG at Ukrainians, but he forgot to pull out the safety pin on the rocket grenade.

The grenades have a little plunger on the front that depresses when it contacts a target that makes it detonate. The grenades ship with a pin, like on a hand grenade, that crosses that plunger and prevents it from pushing in and detonating.

The RPG grenade he fires is safed, and incapable of blowing up. That's what untrained conscripts gives the Russian army. In the video, the shooter shoots a "dud" with the pin in, and then procedes to do exactly the same thing again with the same result.

I’m guessing the subtitles can’t be accurate, but they’re a lot of fun.

I blame the pipeline on Nestia, the Russian "Loch Ness" Monster.

No this makes sense in theory but It seems Putin has the power to bend the oligarchs will unlike Silver who is more of a figurehead for the Owners.

This would be like if Silver just suspended Durrant Lebron and Giannis just because he wanted the Lakers to win the title.

Natural gas prices always go up this time of year, and it's usually double.

According to military officials, they have protocol for these type of ships to always be informing the Russian's of their position as a way to avoid conflict. The Russian's would have known exactly where this ship was at all times even if the US Navy wasn't keeping the communication line open.

If the US did this.... (hint... They didn't unless Biden secretly wants to heavily pollute the earth with methane gas, and destabilize Europe for no reason)....They would have used special forces and likely would have used small vessels likely to look like fishing crews. The US Navy isn't stupid enough to use a ship like this that is going to be so obvious.

Another possibility nobody is talking about though is either the Saudi's or Iran... who have much more incentives to push Europe into turning their eyes to the middle east for long term stability in fueling their energy needs.... and both could care less about Europe's stability.

But yeah... of course it's likely Russia just trying to pull a false flag operation like they always try to do. Its the KGB way.

I have little faith in Biden's ability to think rationally.
