Yes. I mentioned getting away from Texas politics, business opportunities could be another, climate, nature activities, family, wine, restaurants, agriculture, etc. There are so many reasons why a person might move to any state.

Right. California is the number one state in food production, entertainment industry, and does well in all sorts of businesses. Whether or not those industries matter to you does not mean they don't matter to others. JPL is in California, we have top Universities, and numerous other reasons. I love Texas the state and miss it. But the politics there suck big time. Paxton just took off running like a chicken to avoid answering for his actions. They have Ted Cruz as a Senator. The Texas Republicans recently resolved that Joe Biden, the legally elected President of the United States wasn't legitimately elected. I love the nature in Texas, but Big Bend and the Big Thicket are so far away from one another. It isn't the same as being able to surf and ski on the same day plus hiking and driving through mountains and canyons on a daily commute around a major metropolitan area just isn't the same. You mentioned Texas wine but many of those wineries still use grapes from California. There are plenty of reasons to live in Texas. I love it in Texas. But there are plenty of reasons to live other places including California as well.
My judgment would be not wear expensive jewelry at Roscoes in south central also there’s much better fried chicken in LA than Roscoes. Frenchy’s in Houston walks all over that place
High skilled career opportunities? Definitely more of them out there than a state like Florida or even Texas. If you get an engineering gig at SpaceX you would deny the offer because you have to move to Cali?
