This series was one of the most frustrating of the season. To see no name pitchers look like Cy Young finalists mowing down our hitters was hard to take. But the worst was having Odor who usually stinks as a .200 hitter look like Mickey Mantle. That was disgusting, infuriating, and really really irritating. The split eased the pain, but even that was difficult.Yes, that is baseball, and we won the last two, but for some reason I am still annoyed. I hope the players are ticked off too because the playoffs will be this way, a grind.
So... the Astros have won 12 of their last 15 and you are focusing on a couple of stinkers that every good team has?
This wasn't a poster boy series, that is for sure. But I still feel like many of these guys are posturing themselves mentally for what they know is coming (the playoffs). There is absolutely no other thing more important right now than getting ready for October. With this in mind, I give the guys a pass for the Baltimore series.
I love it. Look at the MLB page of ESPN “Mike Trout CRUSHED a 416’ home run to the upper deck.” Umm. There’s this guy that plays for the Astros. Well in one game he crushed a 432’ home run. Next at bat I believe it was a 439’ foot home run. I could be off by a foot or two. Then after that a 461’ home run. Again I may be off a foot or two. What I am not off about is the fact that all three were more than glass man’s 416’ home run. Oh. Since no one has heard of him. His name is Yordan Alvarez. All for the expensive going rate of one (give us a few home runs in 2017 WS-2) Josh Fields. Hope I have my facts straight.
To be this consistently good in a grueling season is a miracle in and of itself. Shut yo trap.. good teams find a way to win… except for basketball cause that schutz rigged lol
Lost in all the craziness today was the outstanding performance by Mr Javier Will Dusty screw the pooch and put Javier in the bullpen for the playoffs? that is the burning question
I really don't understand how some of you guys make it through 162 games of baseball overreacting to every minor hiccup a team has to deal with. The sky is falling if we don't sweep with comfortable wins. Also I'm not even a big fan of Dusty as a manager, but good lord. Every bad thing that happens is because of "stupid Dusty", it's gone way past ridiculous. A ton of s**t went wrong, and we still found a way to get a split against a solid team. It really isn't the disaster some of you think it is.
Are you under the impression that Alvarez's day wasn't covered extensively when it happened like 10 days ago?
Props to the Stros for salvaging the series. The first two games were trash Another 100-win season. Corona stopped a historic record. LOL. seems something will always discredit the city's greatness Great time in Houston sports history. Please win another WS
Probably. I've been hearing that BS about putting him in the BP with every discussion of the Playoffs. They want to pitch arguably the 3rd/4th best starter in the bull pen because Urquidy was good last year. Javier is too good to push to the pen like a yo yo.
Javier will be your game 3 starter. Have to assume with Frambers curve/2 seamer that Javier would be up next as his stuff is on the opposite spectrum in its own way. Then you go to McCullers who has become a junk baller. Verlander Framber Javier McCullers All sport sub 3 era's. 4 legit TOR pitchers in the playoffs is truly insane.
17 games in a row, clinched the division. Astros came into Baltimore a little drained and still split. 5-2 on the last road trip.
You know you spend too much time on Clutchfans when…. Half of your posts are in the Astros thread telling other people to how to react to games. With that being said most of y’all are some whiny b****es. Y’all need help. @bobrek @sealclubber1016 am i doing this right?
