He is not athletic at all, Mills is more athletic. He has a nice arm and solid size. He doesn’t have off schedule ability. And he’s an Ohio St qb
I'm watching Michael Penix Jr. playing right now on FS1. Dude is fairly legit. He's this year's Joe Burrow or Kenny Pickett. Will keep an eye on him, along with Young, Stroud, and Levis as the year progresses.
Beware of the "draft gurus"... they get as many wrong as they do right. Big programs get so much media hype and exposure, where the other teams/players don't. While done of us are scouts or have everything teams do for evaluation, we can rely on our years of watching to pick up some interesting aspects to a prospect's game. I don't watch much College ball, so I'll be interested in your thoughts as the season progresses.
Oh for sure. And not just draft gurus, pro scouts/coaches have gotten it more wrong than right when it comes to QBs historically. I really like Young’s game so personally I wouldn’t pass on him based on measurables. Everyone is looking for the next Josh Allen and Justin Herbert when you are just as likely of getting a Daniel Jones or Trubisky.
He was really fun to watch at Indiana before he got hurt, I had no idea what happened to him until this post.
I’m no QB expert but I said last week it was a waste of time cause the goal is to win a ring and he’s just not going to do that for. that aside and more specifically: - can’t throw to the sideline effectively - has a strong arm but too strong at times rifles that **** in it’s hard to catch and that resulted in the red zone interception - happy feet… usually for no reason. It’s not like he’s getting pummeled back there. He gets sacked occasionally. It happens. He has solid athleticism but doesn’t really use it to position himself in The pocket effectively and instead gets happy feet. I’d rather he just run all those situation given his ok speed. point 3 is the biggest issue and also speaks to the 4th Q issue. Pressure goes up… performance goes down. you can’t win with that.
