I mean, once again, your litmus is Assange and Snowden. Pretty sure they faced lifetime imprisonment before they fled. Seems like Trump held more significant documents...
Unfortunately even with all this Trump is unlikely to see the inside of a jail. Even if he is convicted I still think any judge will be very reluctant to imprison a former US President. Most likely it will be house arrest and a heavy fine.
I’ve been listening to people go into more depth about the ruling from the 11th Circuit, and these are judges, so they can’t outright say it, but in layman’s terms they were basically flabbergasted by Aileen Cannon and called her a dumbass the ruling was wondering if Cannon was dropped as a child Cannon got every answer laughably wrong, and all her explanations were smooth brained…she got a zero on her test Aileen Cannon has raw chicken breast for brains
Trump will be billed $500/hr by the Special Master, and due to his history, if he does not pay within 7 days of receiving an invoice, it will be a violation of the Special Master order and he will be held in contempt of court
What is the over/under in days before Trump violates his house arrest? What would be the consequences? I suspect that Trump can not make 24 hours. I do not think that there will be any alternative to Trump having a long stay at Club Fed.
The classification question is a figment of Trump's imagination, but even if Trump had declassified according to process while still in office, the records are still the property of the US Government and there is no legal, rational, or remotely plausible reason to have them carted off to MAL. He stole federal property.
Exactly. Before you even address the classification level of the documents, it's obvious that he stole presidential records. He's admitted it...publicly...on several occasions, As has been stated previously, the deference he's been granted in this case relative to others that have done EXACTLY what he's done is obscene and he has the gall to complain about how unfairly he's been treated!
If Tucker Carlson had any integrity in that joke of an interview, he would ask Trump if he did or did not have documents that pertained to our spies in foreign nations as well as another countries nuclear capabilities. If he did, why would he declassify that? If he didn’t and they were “planted by the FBI,” will he state that in court under oath? If he tries to weasel his way out by saying he doesn’t know if he did have documents of that nature (a damn lie), then why are u saying everything is declassified if u don’t even know what everything is? Are documents of that nature something u would simply want declassified with your mind?
Aileen Cannon claiming Trump would be under irreparable harm in her joke ruling…11th Circuit tells her dumbass in their ruling that any criminal could claim irreparable harm based on the nonsense she wrote now MyPillow asking for a Special Master… judge in that case didn’t even take 5 minutes to tell him
Yes Trump is likely to violate and house arrest. I think the bigger worry is Trump supporters attacking LE and judges if Trump is convicted.
Pretty much every suspect will complain they are treated unfairly. What's more disturbing is how many truly believe Trump is being treated unfairly and that institutons like the DOJ, FBI and courts are completely biased to the point of fabricating evidence against Trump.
dropped as a child…smooth brained …. Zero on her test …. Raw chicken breast for brains so much gold here man, I nearly spewed my coffee. I can’t like this enough I read the 11th cir opinion twice for entertainment. It is hilarious how often they went out of their way to sideswipe Cannon to make sure the legal community understands how idiotic her opinion was. And to telegraph their feelings about the merits of trumps position and their future response to more nonsense.
Learning to read legal opinions for the subtle smackdowns has been one of my favorite things the last few years. Judges find very creative ways to deliver beat downs in their rulings without ever using an insult.
