Based on what we know, which 3 would you keep if you had to choose? Due to the salary cap you're usually capped at 3 max deals. Who do you think will earn/demand the max and what group from those will fit best together?
We know nothing about Eason, he has yet to play. u can cross KPJr off that list I like Eason’s theoretical prototype more than Sengun, so I would keep Green, Jabari, and Eason if he pans out (I don’t think Eason will ever be some max player)
Given what I know now, Jabari, Green and Eason. They are the three highest draft picks and I think have the most upside.
Right now - based upon their play in the NBA so far....except for Jabari - number 3 pick. Green Jabari KPJ But I really like Sengun and Eason ......and that could change by the end of this year....KPJ could be off the list...for instance..... And I really like Eason a lot....just think he is gonna be special. DD
I put Green, Smith, Eason. Probably should have only put Green as he's the only one with a greater than 50% chance of being worth the max. I think Smith and Eason will fit well with Green and whoever the other star(s) on the team are. I like Sengun, but worry he's going to be a tough fit unless he hits near his ceiling. I hope KPJ hits because Rockets will likely need playmaking with Smith and Eason.
Cleverly disguised "extend KPJ or not" thread.... but I'll play along. Green Jabari Tari Sengun's offense doesn't outweigh his terribad defense. KPJ bottom 3rd in pick and roll and bottom 5th in isolation along with 60something% FT shooting.
Green and Jabari are obvious... then its yer gut... i went Tari... i think he'll be starter quality - or maybe better... I'm hopefully for Alpy... He may be a long term starter - but i'm thinking more strong backup in the long run... KPJ i would move today for the right offer... idk that hes part of the long term plan... jus imo... lol
Green & Jabari will probably consume the max I honestly believe in 5 years KPJ will be the best player on the team but never be paid like it Sengun needs to show me a lot
Green is MJ/Kobe.....you don't let that go $35-$38 M. Max deal KPj will be better than Dinwiddie, Tim Hardaway Jr, Brunson, etc. End up in that DeJounte Murray, SGA, DeArron Fox range. If we wait until next summer : in the $25-$28 M range. Below Max deal (compared to other TV contract deals) Jabari 6'10" Defensive gem, hard working spot shooter from all 3 level tiers. After working with Hakeem will look like a better shooting Derrick Coleman. Probably getting less than Max coming off of rookie contract. $25-28 M Below Max deal (compared to other TV contract deals) Tari perfect strengths in his game that fit Silas system perfectly. Probably coming off rookie deal at around $16 to $18 M Below Max deal (compared to other TV deals) Sengun is the big "if" What "If" the Rockets draft Wembanyama or Dereck Lively or Kel'el Ware which can shoot 3's. The Embiid's and Jokic's have a hard time getting out of the First and 2nd Round. "If" Sengun ever starts hitting 3's better than Theis 33% to 35% w/Boston....then we'll talk.
Green, Jabari and Tari. I think the Rockets will probably draft a defensive minded big in this upcoming draft like Duren to have as insurance for when it times to pay or not pay Sengun. Since he's yet to show he can hit Jokic level (which is the only relevant level for a player like him) then I'll take the safer gamble with Tari.
Smith & Eason I like the sound of that. Should be marketed. Sounds like Smith & Wesson. They make guns for self-defense and Smith & Eason will probably be the core of the Rockets defense. It may come across as controversial but in Texas it sells.
