All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 9-22 Justin Verlander (R) vs. Kyle Bradish (R) 6:05 9-23 Jose Urquidy (R) vs. Dean Kremer (R) 6:05 MLBN (out-of-market only) 9-24 Framber Valdez (L) vs. Tyler Wells (R) 6:05 9-25 Luis Garcia (R) vs. Austin Voth (R) 12:05
Where did you see Garcia. It's TBD on MLB.com. It leaves open Brown/Garcia tandem with Brown getting a start or McCullers beginning the switch to the five man rotation. If Urquidy has another stinker Friday, he has earned being taken out of the rotation. 1. JV 2 Valdez 3 tie McCullers 3 tie Javier Those 4 are separated from the rest. This would be a good opportunity to see how McCullers can do on 4 days rest after a 100+ pitch game.
All I am hoping for is: 1) JV keeps pitching well and secures the CY. 2) Framber keeps the streak alive. 3) Nobody gets hurt. 4) Yanier and Hensley both play a couple of games and each get 8+ PA in the series
My guess for the series: Verlander gives up 2 early runs, Clutchfans is calm, Verlander settles down and only gives up the 2 early runs, Astros win. Urquidy pitches great and wins. Clutchfans debates on how he should be used in the playoffs. Framber shoves. All is happy this day except Orioles fans. Garcia gives up 2 early runs, Clutchfans calls for his head, Garcia settles down and only gives up the 2 early runs, Astros win.
For years Altuve has been using the Elbow Guard as a Bicep Guard which has been weird to see. The whole point of Elbow Guard is to protect your Elbow, Altuve Elbow and Funny Bone got the worst of it.
I always say the three most important moments in my life are the birth of my daughter, marrying my wife, and the Astros winning the world series in 2017. It's not necessarily in that order though.
It was so frustrating to see him wearing the guard, but then getting hit just below it because he doesn't wear it right.
So it looks like JV will get three more starts. Today, next Tuesday and next Sunday after that. So his chance at 20 wins is not over. Do y'all concur?
With Diaz coming back with a vengeance, we need to totally give up on Dubon. He should not even be a consideration for postseason. They are the same player, one is doing really well and the other putrid.
Makes sense to me. With the first round bye there really isn't a reason to sit him in order to align him as the game 1 starter of the Stros first series, so I would think he pitches all three of those games assuming no other health factors arise.
personally, i think he only makes 1 more start after tonight. And that's probably late next week. I think he couldn't care less about getting to 20 wins and has the postseason/health as the priorities
I would agree if we didn't have the bye. He will want to stay sharp going into the playoffs. So I expect 2 more starts after today.
