The article I posted said that Massachusetts is not a sanctuary state.
    https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/sanctuary-cities-massachusetts-migrants-marthas-vineyard/
"Massachusetts is not a sanctuary state, "
If you have other evidence that counters that then pleases post.

That same article further defines "sanctuary city" as:
"A sanctuary city or state is a location that limits cooperation with federal immigration laws."

That is not the case at all here since the Edgarton and the state of MA has not said they wouldn't cooperate with federal immigration laws or ICE.

Also to add while someone on Martha's Vineyard might've called it a "Sanctuary Destination" the island isn't a single municipality and isn't even it's own political entity because it is part of Dukes county that includes it and several other islands. There is no legal basis to calling it a "Sanctuary" regarding immigration law as Vineyard Haven doesn't have to follow what Edgarton or Oaktown does.

FYI I've been to Martha's Vineyard several times.

Just to add he didn't send Venezualas in FL to MA even though there is a large and growing Venezualan population in FL and likely many are in the same situation as this group.

I've been to Marthas Vineyard in the winter. Its got a fraction of the population and services it does in the summer and even ferry service is not reliable to get there.

    Let's Review:
    1. The governor of Florida used state money to fly people from a state that wasn't Florida to another state that also isn't Florida.
    2. This was to make a point about "illegal immigrants" overrunning the southern border. Yet the people in question are currently in the country legally and were at the time of they boarded the planes.
    3. This was to make a point about "Sanctuary Cities" but were flown to a town that isn't actually a Sanctuary City.
    4. The argument was that the town that where they were flown to would reject them instead they were treated very well.
    5. The argument is made that the town rejected them and called the National Guard to get rid of them. They were moved but to a spot on the mainland close to where they landed, in the same state and still being given food, shelter, medical care and legal services.
    6. DeSantis claimed in a previous speech that doing so would lead to securing the border the next day but it has been 5 days since they were flown and nothing at the border as changed.

So what has been accomplished by all of this?

Saw a video about it, want to see it, here it goes.

This is a video I sometimes use in class, It's pretty simple and not hard to follow and somewhat entertaining.

Because Republican voters believe the world is against them and that only by playing dirty can they get their country back. So tactics like this are a plus in their eyes.

Meanwhile, all those politically disinterested Buchanans in the suburbs who consider it gauche to discuss any kind of politics will ignore this because "both sides are bad"

Those Buchannans are why we have the Senate and Biden is president, why do you continue to ignore that?

    Why are you so angry?

Why are you so determined to defend the politically disinterested?

Why am I angry - I'm not and there's nothing angry about my post.

But I am frustrated, because if all these people paid as much attention to politics as they do their third or fourth favorite show and the coaching substitutions of their kids' little leagues, we wouldn't be on the precipice of losing democracy in the first place. Family and work takes precedence - I get that - but too many devote no time at all to reading up on the affairs of our nation and the world.

I know these people because I grew up with them - they're basically good, but because their lives are largely easy and shielded from the real damage of conservative politics, they have the luxury of being lazy when it comes to informing themselves.

This is fantastic because the rest of this scheme/scam will come out into the light. They can depose everyone involved and find out more about how and why this happened. Even more so, hopefully they can show illegality and the hammer can come down on Desanits, et al. Even better if it can tie Gov. Hot Wheels and his cross-eyed cronies to it.

I’ll admit I’m not very clear about the law here but it seems that if they are legally here awaiting asylum then simply flying them to another state might not be a crime. It’s a d^ck move how it was done but I’m not sure it’s criminal of if it’s a violation of their civil rights.

It seems like they could claim fraud in that they were misled by DeSantis.

It doesn’t matter where they were flown or what happened there. It could still be fraud if they were misled.

I mean if someone told me that I was going to get a great job and housing in San Francisco but ended up dumped in Palm Springs with nothing but what I came with that would be very misleading.

In the Good Ol Days, it was ok sending out flyers that the streets of SF were paved with gold and welcome to any person...only to be handed a pick axe and dynamite to build a railroad.

    WWTFFD???

Well I am the standard by which all Clutchfans judges it self. For example FFB said that since I hadn’t posted about something in 20 years meant it wasn’t important
