Kinda sad to see LMJ celebrate without his best friend Correa. LMJ is the only OG left now from 2015, right?

Ha. I knew I was blanking. I was like- Yuli got here in August of 16, feel like Bregman was a 16 guy too, who am I missing? Thanks.
Altuve is just transcendent and eternal.

    Altuve - 2011
    McCullers - 2015
    Bregman and Gurriel - 2016
    Verlander - 2017

Those are the only remaining members of the 2017 team. Only the first Altuve and McCullers (plus Castro [on the IL], who walked in FA and then rejoined) remain from the 2015 WC team that broke the playoff drought.

'15, '17, '19, '21.... sure would be nice to get at least one more title during this Golden Era. Hopefully they continue to surprise, amaze, and delight us over the coming weeks (and seasons).

Kinda felt like an aberration of a season/run with the empty stadiums, pod system, etc.

Exactly. It was the year of the Dodgers “championship”

70 games is NOT a season. It's not even a half season. To be precise, it's 43.21% of a season. And that's ignoring the other atypical rules and regulations.

And we'd all be celebrating the Astros 2020 WS victory had they won it.

I agree with you. Every team played under the same parameters in 2020. Baseball began a sense of normalcy after MLB elected to have a shortened season, as the initial COVID 19 had shut down most of the world.

I guarantee that if it were the Astros having won it, and they did get very close, I’d be ecstatic. It was a tough year for the Astros as the whole trash can thing unfolded and it obviously wore on the guys. Altuve had a very subpar season, but he woke up in the playoffs.

Kudos to the Dodger for winning it, but I’m sure it left a bitter taste as this Eras most dominating team won its World Series while the world was distracted by perhaps a new black pague upon us.

None of those takes were unanimous, I have always thought he was led by his ego and loved the attention, not inherently bad but not the stalwart leader that people made him out to be.

I don't think people have flip-flopped I think people have just come down on both sides and have continued to do so.

He is a polarizing player, I think he has been a bit of a disappointment he was supposed to be this MVP level player that never reached that level, still a great player but a bit overrated IMO.

I like this team so much better without him being the so-called face.

When has Correa ever been a great hitter?

Not with unbridled joy that comes with winning in a REAL season.

So.. you admit that you would be celebrating the 2020 WS win had the Astros won it?

I'd celebrate it like celebrating reaching the top of the Power Rankings. Nice, but ultimately fleeting. Like an NIT Championship since the NCAA went to 64 games.

I mean it's kind of hard to view a championship as 100% legitimate when the season was 43% played in comparison to a normal MLB season. I mean kudos to the Dodgers for winning but let's not sit here and act like it carries the same weight as a full 162 game season championship.

He's been an MVP-level guy, but injuries have held him back a little in terms of actually having a chance to win one. His 162 WAR average is 7.2 and MVP caliber season is 8+. Jose Altuve who is an actual MVP averages 4.7 and had 7.7 when he won it.

What did people want? Mike Trout? Barry Bonds?

Sorry he's just a less healthy Cal Ripken.
