She was 24 in 1950 do you think she ordered any of that , do you not understand how the British monarchy works?
I find it amusing when people use words they don't understand to make an argument. Thanks for the giggles.
Biden looking like a lost goof as usual. "Excuse me, President Biden you are supposed to walk this way to the funeral, not into the janitorial closet."
That’s the issue I was thinking of when I said what my family thought of her. Again, no one in my family was celebrating her death or anything like that. But we weren’t mourning. The Troubles were exactly what I was thinking of. If I was from Kenya, I’d probably be thinking about something else. I’m not interested in arguing about this, though. If you feel you should mourn her death, then please do. I don’t begrudge anyone for feeling that way. I have my own thoughts. How you feel is how you feel.
You can’t be the Queen and then say, I’m not really the Queen. It doesn’t work that way. Not to the people who are hurt by it. I doubt seriously she called the shots. But she was a symbol for calling the shots…that’s how monarchy really works, since you asked the question. Imagine if we could askthose enslaved by Her Majesty Queen Isabella when she was 14. You’re a symbol. So don’t be mad when people lash out at the symbol for what has caused them a lot of pain. They’re not gonna mourn the death of that symbol..ever. Her entire life was being a symbol of something…when that something hurts people, don’t expect those hurt by that something to mourn for the death of the symbol.
Queen Elizabeth certainly wasn’t the one giving orders in Kenya, Derry, or Basra but those troops have “Royal” on their regimental titles and were in “Her Majesty’s” service. As I said at the beginning it the thread I can understand why British and those who are fascinated by the monarchy are sad. A lot of the World though isn’t mourning.
I don't understand why anyone should be in mourning who didn't personally know her or at least is from the United Kingdom. She was a 90 something year old lady who lived a long, celebrated life. What's there to mourn?
Cutting off pipeline production was immediate. The sanctions on Russia have proven to be an issue globally. That's on the UN. Haven't seen something that bad since Batman the movie.
Let's make this very clear. 20+ years and NOBODY has brought up the Queen. And that's fine. but within ONE week, libs go apeshit on her devious reign. It's pathetic. And you need to be called out for it. Had you given it ONE month, that'd be different. But libs are sheep. You read some moron at a news channel and decide to follow.
Only the British is mourning. Plus all the countries want their precious jewelry returned from the crown England stole.
Globally public faces are generally fair game. Most of the critical comments here are tame. Just heard on NPR, she spent most of her last months in Scotland, died in Scotland and Charles was crowned in Scotland. Even the town drunk can see one of her last wishes was to keep Scotland in the fold and would even engineer her final moments to help accomplish that goal. But you can't even talk about what she represents to other people as figurehead? Pure hogwash.
