Nook has mentioned it multiple times. I’ve suspected it in the past even before hearing that from him.
Of course Baker manages differently in the postseason. Doesn't every manager? Do you really think it would take someone else stepping in for Dusty to not put Dubon in the top 2 spots of the order in the playoffs? In a DH league there's not much that's going to change with the lineup and substitutions throughout the postseason.
The same Kevin Cash that pulled Blake Snell from game 6 of the WS after he gave up a 1 out single in the 6th? 73 pitches, 9 strike outs and 2 hits and 0 runs (although the bullpen did allow the inherited runner to score)?
yep, just like the same AJ Hinch that failed to bring in Gerritt Cole. Cash and Hinch aren’t perfect. No manager is. But I have much more confidence in their ability to get it right than Dusty. And it’s not close.
Re: Cash - I have no idea about his contract situation or anything, but I would not in the least be surprised to see a Click-Cash reunion in Houston should Crane elect to keep Click but not Dusty.
While I generally like Crane, he IS a bought and paid for lackey of MLB and has been since he bought the team (while jumping through special hoops for them.) It's time to declare Independence. But he won't. He will follow orders from above. If MLB wants ()usty to be the Astros Manager, he will be the Astros Manager.
The fact that he ever hit at the top Of the lineup is absurd. The fact that JV has a personal CF that is worse at CF defense and hits like a backup catcher is absurd. The fact that Chas doesn’t start, at a minimum, against every LHP is absurd. The fact that Yuli is top 2 or 3 in games started and hits at the top of the lineup is absurd. There is so much that’s not optimized on a day in and day out basis that is irritating. I’m not talking about giving guys rest- I’m all for that. I’m just talking about incredibly basic **** where we give away small percentages if win expectancy all the time. It is what it is. It’s not going to change. I just hope he’s gone at the end of the year.
LOL. You know, this is so absurd it is just laughable. You don’t know thinking, you don’t understand player dynamics. Why start Chas against righties? Because he needs to learn to hit them if he wants to be the everyday CF. The luxury of having a big lead is to allow for experimentation. You are b****ing about decisions made for a team that will win probably 105 games at-least. Think about that. Dubon is faster and covers more ground than Chaz. He helps with the slower LFers (Mancini and Alvarez). Some of you are just clueless.
Your reading comprehension is absolute ass dude. I said Chas should NEVER sit against LHP not that he shouldn’t ever play against RHP. He should play every day more or less but certainly auto start against LHP.
Why do you white knight Dumbo? If you're an Astros fan you don't want him. He was literally forced on them.
I know EXACTLY what you said, and I responded with why he probably sits sometimes against LHP. Focus on hitting RHP. There is much more of that in the league.
Why do you b**** about a manager who is, by the record, leading probably the 2nd best Astros team in their history? He can't do anything right, in your eyes. He is just taking up space...according to you. You can't be that DUMB. Then again, with your political leanings.......
