When Republicans controlled all of Congress the biggest piece of legislation they passed was a big tax cut. They also passed an updated NAFTA. They failed on getting an infrastructure bill passed, getting the ACA repealed and didn’t even vote on Trump’s wall. Trump’s other big legislative achievements were criminal Justice reform and the first CARES act. Both those were passed with Democratic support. The one thing the Republican Senate was very good at was getting judges appointed and in the four years of Trump and McConnell they got many more confirmed than Obama had in 8 years.
And that is precisely why an ideological conservative will vote for the GOP party regardless of how disgusting their candidate is or how antithetical they are to their values. They understand how important this is. A conservative will tell you that this was a successful administration JUST because of that alone. And it all honesty, I agree with them. Trump's administration was effective in turning our judicial system more conservative.
