Exactly, nurses make plenty and people exaggerate the strenuous nature of an RN's job. People act like they're coal miners.

These guys talking about how often the doctor sees you. You have so many doctors. Their job isn't daily care. .

Why do you think they aren't getting what they deserve? Do you know how much money RNn's make?

that's a high average, but i don't think averages are a good start when talking about overall pay.

What are the highs and lows of the salary range?

It's like people using average salary in the NFL when the disparity of a franchise QB and a 3rd year olineman is huge.

I know that's an extreme example, but you can see my point.

This is not true when you consider overtime.

The amount differs in different places. But it's a hard job, it's an important job, and requires sacrifice of time with family, and others. They deal with angry, scared, patients, and people connected with patients. They also have to work with the doctors. They provide a valuable service. The administrators make $$, and I support the nurses getting more.

Mostly I support improved working conditions for them. That would be the top priority.

If I were a labor leader, I'd sniff the opportunity for a pre-election payday.

Just to be clear I think nurses deserve what they make. It's an issue of supply and demand, there aren't enough healthcare providers period at every level.

On people who complain about how often the doctor sees someone, the nurses relay the day to day issues to the doctor. Nurses are doing a lot of reporting in the hospital sitting at computers

But from someone who has been in the hospital due to diabetes, a lot of people have a misconception about how hard the job is. Get the television medical drama out your mind. It's not like that

The television medical drama would be much less taxing than the actual job. Not only is it record keeping, it is answering alarm buzzers over and over, scheduling, consulting, dealing with complaints, bathing, cleaning, getting the lunch orders, dinner orders, breakfast orders of patients when needed, answering questions, assisting with triage, helping to schedule other nurses and workers, etc.

Some of the abuse and interactions they receive gets tiresome. Patients are in pain, people aren't always the most polite when they are uncomfortable and hurting. Loved ones and family members aren't always the nicest when their loved one is in pain and hurting, and they are all unsure and scared. Some doctors aren't the most patient. Nurses have to tell another patient's family members that their loved one is dying because they were misled about Covid Vaccines and now they are dead from Covid. Or the nurses contracted Covid from patients and couldn't see their families because of it in the days before the vaccines.

The hardships they face go on and on, and dealing with the rewarding glamorous stuff like in television would be a blessing.

You're over exaggerating difficulties and just stating job duties which they're paid very well to bath people. Do you have any idea how many alarms they have to answer.

No your post is a lot more frantic than a hospital. You have no idea what you are talking about

What's hard about bathing someone after you've done it a hundred times?

They had to clean my crap after a surgery. They just do it. They fully accepted those responsibilities before they started

    What? lol

So some friendly advice. Don't presume you know where I get my information from and what I do or don't know.

2 different people that I went to college with and am friends with are RNs. Another friend that I play D&D with is an RN. They have all vented about their work conditions plenty. One of those friends was at ground zero in NYC when Covid started and remember how badly hit NYC was. Dealing with that much death isn't easy at any time. Dealing with that on top of the other things that I accurately described can really take a toll.

I have two friends that are also doctors, my father-in-law was a surgeon, my mother worked as an administrator.

My wife just spent several days in ER and the hospital, so I have a great idea of how many alarms were going off on her floor, and in the ER rooms. I've had numerous family members in intensive care. I've been hospitalized as well.

Bathing someone may or may not be hard after a hundred times. It depends on what other issues there might be. There are plenty of them that make it difficult. I'll let you use your imagination.

Mostly you just sound like someone who doesn't know where to even begin when it comes to empathy.

My mother was an RN. Everyone vents about their job. That doesn't mean everyone deserves more money. The pandemic was a unique situation but it's back to normal. This is the type of exaggerating I'm talking about.

I've been in the hospital on several occasions. Nurses aren't stressed. They go about cleaning people normally. You have no idea of what you are talking about

That is your experience. Perhaps hospitals in Russia are very different than the hospitals here in the United States.

Any nurse's duties, stresses, and obligations will be different depending on where they are, which ward they are in, etc.

These nurses didn't decide to take this action just because they thought they can scam some money.

I didn't say scam and going to the Russian card just proves you lost the argument.

This is one state, and I've never heard nurses complain about pay
