Where is Yanier Diaz? And why isn't he getting to hit?. Tired of JJ Metajevic and Dubon

Yanier Diaz is the September call-up emergency 3rd catcher. The Astros always bring in a 3rd catcher in September but they aren't here to play much. He's getting a big league paycheck for a month. My hope was that they would DH Vazquez some with Diaz on the roster but that hasn't happened yet.

If that was me...I'll start a collection and around and ask every future HoF player to sign a ball... Chas knows what's up.

We seem to be reaching a little for our Mexicans.

Regardless of numbers, I think JV and FV are 1 and 2.
    LMJ is probably 3
After that it's a pick-em' depending on what metrics you use.
    ERA+ Brown 265
    WHIP Javier 995
    IP Urquidy 151.0
    Post season Success Garcia

Until a player has 50 PA or IP their stats should be just ignored.

Whenever you say David Hensley should be an everyday player and in a specific spot in the order or that Hunter Brown should be the #4 starter

    BASED ON CURRENT MLB STATS

I completely ignore everything else in your post because it has no value.

    For example:

David Hensley has 23 MLB PA

after 24 MLB PA, Alex Bregman had a .170 OPS with 5 Ks.

By your analysis, Hensley should be the starting 3B over him.

I think 1 more win or Orioles loss clinches a playoff berth.

He may make more money with those signatures in the long run than his salary in baseball

I've kind of given up on James. At this point he's kind of like Whitely to me. If he turns out, it's found money and hooray. But I'm not expecting him to contribute on the major league team anymore.

How many players start off with 50 PA or 50 IP? NONE. I agree you should be skeptical of numbers based on small sample sizes, but to ignore them is as foolish as making too much out of them.

I suggested a lineup for September, not October. If a prospect like Brown or Hensley can make a post season roster and help, now is when you see what they have. If they do not sustain production, it should become apparent with just a few more PAs or IP. You find out nothing when they sit on the bench.

    All fair points.

I just think a player is given a profile and expectation based on historical performance, tools, projections, and many other things.

If a player projects to be a bottom of the lineup utility bench player you don't suddenly say he needs to be the everyday leadoff hitter after 3 or 4 games in the MLB based on those results.

Projections are nice and part of the evaluation, but production eventually wins out. They just have to get those opportunities.

We know Framber likes the Blue Jerseys. Can we get Los Astros Orange Jerseys for Yordan?
