Nobody wanted him, even the Giants weren't particularly interested so we wouldn't be the only team that missed the boat. Good for him if he sticks.
After just watching JD Martinez's inability to beat out one of the slowest turned DPs, I've ever seen, I wouldn't bet on him in a race against Maldonado.
He was going as hard as he could (that's what she said). Beating the throw meant a run and continuing the inning when they were down 4-2.
I just found out Eusebio was part of the Astros org for 16 years (as a player). I mainly remember him in the late nineties.
My only memories of Eusebio was that despite being kind of a hefty guy that would make you think he could generate some real power, the guy was almost exclusively a slap singles hitter. But...everrrrrry once in a while he would turn on one and rocket it over the left field fence. Those were fun ABs.
Tony Eusebio was soooo close to a great Astros memory and would have been remembered by even more fans. He was the one that hit the hard grounder to Walt Weis in 99 playoffs against the Braves.
