I completely and utterly disagree based on the following information: Another investigation by the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General (IG) confirmed there was no evidence of collusion and uncovered “many basic and fundamental errors” and “extensive compliance failures” committed by the FBI during the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. Among the most serious were 17 “significant inaccuracies and omissions” with the information the Bureau submitted to obtain Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants to electronically eavesdrop on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page. The IG report stated that investigative reports from former British spy Christopher Steele (colloquially and collectively known as the “Steele dossier”) had made critical allegations of collusion with Russia against Carter Page and other Trump officials and played the “central and essential role” in the FBI’s ability to obtain FISA approvals targeting Page. The IG report found extensive and numerous reasons to call into question and to outright discredit the Steele dossier, and furthermore discovered these concerns were never revealed by the FBI in the applications submitted to the FISA judges considering the spying warrants to target Page. In August 2020, Sally Yates, Deputy U.S. Attorney General in the Obama administration and acting U.S. Attorney General for a brief period during the early Trump administration, said she would not have approved a FISA warrant targeting Page if she had known in real-time the flaws in the applications. Good for them, and us - as we all know, their hunches about Trump and Russia were eventually proven correct, hence the numerous convictions of Putinist trash like Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn. Too bad Old Man Mueller let Billy Barr clown him from getting the Dons of the whole operation. If we had it to do over again... Good also that Durham vindicated them in the first place - thanks John.
There is a point by point trend of either multiple cases of bias, errors in judgement, a blatant illegal act by a FBI a lawyer against Trump, in addition when there was 17 “significant inaccuracies and omissions” with the information the Bureau submitted to obtain Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants to electronically eavesdrop on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page that is the definition of scandalous …so much so Sally Yates in hindsight she should not have approved
Not at all, there was no conviction because Mueller’s team said it couldn’t “reliably determine” Manafort’s purpose in sharing it, nor assess what Kilimnik may have done with it — in part due to questions over Manafort’s credibility. The Senate committee also came up empty…so again no collusion
Not according to Trump's campaign manager who confessed to having handed over confidential data to a Russian intelligence officer. Sorry. Can't change the facts.
Do you mean the same IG who found problems with the investigation but ultimately still found it to be justified? https://time.com/5746639/inspector-...trump-campaign-was-justified-but-not-perfect/ The Inspector General you are quoting found the investigation to be justified.
It’s interesting the IG also cites improper procedures as well but absolutely While Attorney General William Barr praised the Inspector General’s work, he offered a contradictory view on that key part of Horowitz’s findings, saying in a statement, “The Inspector General’s report now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken.” - This from someone who is not a Trump fanatic being AG Barr who frankly has proven not to be in lockstep with Trump
AG Barr was absolutely a Trump fanatic and lied about the Mueller report for Trump. He had lines that he wouldn't cross, but he was certainly a Trump loyalist.
I don’t see any evidence he’s a trump loyalist when he is not in lockstep on his wishes. https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/07/politics/william-barr-donald-trump-mar-a-lago-judge/index.html
Exactly, I kept thinking of how both were sparked by foreign informants. Despite numerous embellishments, the investigation from one produced actual results of incriminating evidence of fraud and collusion. While the other was a complete and total fabrication and ended up costing Americans over a trillion dollars with tens of millions of displaced lives with no peaceful end in sight
Beat me to it. While Horowitz’s investigation did find problems it still said the investigation into Trump’s campaign ties with Russia was warranted. Durham’s investigation hasn’t contradicted that finding.
Most Americans Don't Get to Be 'Disingenuous' Under Oath the Way Bill Barr Was Still, Judge Amy Berman Jackson's decision in a case tracing back to the Mueller Report—and Barr's spin on it—is an important one. https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a36338728/federal-judge-william-barr-mueller-report/
