No, stop watching numbers only and WATCH the players and how they play. They are 2 different type of players. Tucker is not a lead off guy....period. What made Springer a lead off guy is A. He has more speed than Tucker, B. He is a Twitch-type player. Meaning Springer could bunt, uses his quickness. His bat speed is faster than Tucker, can be more of a singles guy and go the other way on the ground. Tucker is a power guy without that "twitch". Yes, Springer has power...but it not his primary skill.
No reason why any pitcher should throw Peña a strike in these situations. He just can't lay off that outside pitch with RISP.
