You do realize that 72 points is a lot of points right? The team with the highest average margin of victory is the Celtics, with 7.28. The difference of one or two extra made 3s can determine whether a team wins or loses the game.

Also, are you really trying to argue that 5 more games won is meaningless? That difference of 5 games is the difference between the 1st seed and 5th seed in the East.

Lastly, you also realize we are talking about just 1 player on a team? I know you are having a very difficult time grasping numbers, but the league average number of 3PA is 2885 last season. The difference of 36% and 40% is 115.4 3PA shots, which translates to 346 points. That's 4 extra points scored per game, in a league where the highest margin of victory is 7.5.

I can't believe there is even a discussion on this. You really have no business discussing basketball on any forum, if you genuinely think there are minimal differences between a 36 and 40% 3PT shooting. We are not even discussing the actual impact on the court yet (good shooters create significantly more space on the court than average to bad shooters).

Your questions are correct, but I'm saying Porter doesn't have to put up superstar status
numbers to get paid. Dinwiddie, Tim Hardaway Jr, Brunson, Marcus Smart and others are
getting paid big bucks while doing very pedestrian type work because of the new TV
    contract coming our way.

    Here is KPj in 21/22:
    Player....Games.....mins....FGA...FG%...3PA...3P%...eFG%....FT%...Rebs...
    KPj.............61..........31.3.....13.2...41.5....6.8....37.5.....51.1.....64.2.....4.4....
    Player A.....64..........32.6.....16.1...41.6....5.7....31.4.....47.1.....84.5.....5.5....

    Player......Ast...TOV....pts....USG%.....TOV%....Ast%.....TS%

    KPj............6.2....3.1.....15.6....24.1........17.7.......30.7......53.1
    Player A....5.6....3.7.....17.4....27.5........17.5.......29.1......50.4
    --------------------

    ...........................KPj..............................................................Player A..................
    Dribbles...........freq........FG%.......eFG%...........freq........FG%.........eFG%......
    0 Dribbles..........20.3........54.3........72.0..............29.2.........34.6..........47.1........
    1 Dribble..............9.0.........42.5.......53.4................6.4..........40.0.........46.2........
    2 Dribbles.............8.3........32.8.......41.8................9.9..........47.0..........50.0.......
    3-6 Dribbles ........32.5.......41.8.......50.6...............27.2.........45.5..........47.3......
    7+ Dribbles..........29.8.......34.4........39.2..............27.4..........44.8.........47.3......

So Player A sux......he stinks......get rid of him. Player A is Cade Cunningham

But Apache, Cade was a rookie and 3 yrs in the league!!
Both played PG for the first time for a full season more or less.

Point is we all expect Cade to improve.....but maybe some don't want Porter to
improve. Then it's not a basketball issue. More like a preference issue.

So can we extend KPJ on a rookie contract two more years because he just started playing PG this year?

What does that have to do with anything though? If Cade was due for an extension next year you think he'll get extended to the max yes or no?

As for KPJ if he can get a deal close to what Sexton signed for I think that's a no brainer to ge that extension signed. KPJ showed pretty good individual performance last year. If he outs in the work he can be a very good 2 way player in the league, his ceiling is certainly much higher than Sexton's.

No, but would you let Cade Cunningham go to another team this off season because
    of his numbers?

I've suggested paying Porter $15 to $20 mil which is the going rate for
Dinwiddie, Tim Hardaway Jr, Marcus Smart rates.......if you wait in to the
season it may rise to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($30.9M) or D Fox ($30.4M) levels.
Freaking lame-o Brunson ($27.7M) type numbers who is actually worth $10M..

People are going to go into next summer saying, "man we could have had
KPj for $8 mil to $10 mil instead of this $20+ mil stuff?"

No, he was never going to accept such a laugh in his face low ball number.
Just Rockets management and CF's creaming in their pants fantasying that
KPj would accept $8 to $12 mil.

Porter shot 64% from the FT one and still had a better TS% than Cade Cunningham.

But no cut both bums......it's really dense thinking

imagine bringing up a rookie Cade Cunningham to try and make KPJr look good or make excuses for his play…the desperation is hilarious

Scooters stats would have looked more sexy with a better free throw output no doubt about it. He was a much better shooter there his first two years so there is hope he can bounce back and make stat nerds quieter in all aspects. Same with Jalen if he would have had around 2 more full games at end of year output he would have had some more palatable stats, but thats where certain guys can look for the diamonds in the rough and others just thumb their nose and remain obstinate. To each their own. I've researched enough to feel strongly that KPJ is about to have a special year. If he crashes and burns then I spent my time dwelling in positivity which is never a bad thing. Win/Win for me and I'll take the "fanboy" hazing that comes with the moment as well.

Cade is a special talent. He see's the court and elevates the play of those around him. He sucks at shooting 3's which is what drags his numbers down. He should be able to improve from range seeing as to how he's a great FT shooter. Not the biggest fan because of his cocky ass demeanor in particular with Jalen Green as they came up as youngsters so not hugely invested in defending him either.

u embarrass yourself more and more with every post…U think because u type all these paragraphs saying nothing and know how to copy and paste some stats u know what you’re talking about? Lmao, get real, fool

KPJr is not close to a Fox or SGA…just 2 more random names u brought up to try and salvage whatever nonsense you’re talking about

the only version of Fox KPJr has been better than so far is rookie year Fox, and even then, I’m sure we all love Fox’s contract

u really brought up SGA…lmao…if SGA was on the trade market right now, there would be suitors around the block

this after bringing up a rookie year Cade Cunningham :D

Who are u gonna mention next? LaMelo, and then some badly formatted copy and paste job from bball ref?

Your posts are jokes right? An attempt at comedy?

What’s funny to me about the Cade KPJ comparison is that there is not a team out there who wouldn’t trade KPJ for Cade in a heartbeat, that’s how much more promise he has shown in how he handles himself on the court and with the ball.

    Height
Just starting at the position in the NBA
    Assists
    Rebounds
    TS%
    eFG%
Tanking poor teams with equally poor talent around each player

I see the similarities in both as both will project up in stats as the talent
around them improves. It's the Cade will get better but Porter won't that
is so blatantly obvious it's pure bias dislike.....and not basketball views.

Some are grasping at straws to make it about basketball. Some of the
Porter holding on to the ball too long is partly because his teammates
did a poor job of reacting to the "Read and React Offense."

These things will get cleaned up

You are a waste of time. You had your chance at put up or shut up
and you chickened out. The time has passed.

You would have been banished from the kingdom and you know it.
So basically you are just talking out of your #$$.

I can agree with the inherent bias that all of us carry. It is what it is. Everyone has made their bed. Not exactly sure why some guys expect regressive numbers after watching the kid work all summer, but its cool. If KPJ scales the mountain the few guys down from day 1 will feel good about it and everyone else can nestle in on the bandwagon. Scooter playing great is what any Rocket fan should want, but some guys just cant tolerate his antics or feel he wont overcome the mental aspect and thus that bias will permeate even rational skill talks. Other dudes just get a kick from antagonizing and come here to vent apparently. Things are only bothersome if you allow them to be!
