That's the problem, you assume based on your perspective and your perspective alone. There is no room for ideas that challenge your pre loaded argument that ends in "you are racist".. That will always be the outcome of your argument, everyone is racist..... Typical woke conclusion.

Why. Do. You. Care. So. Much?

How in any way shape or form does making this movie with Halle Bailey in the lead role impact your life one bit?

I think the way @rocketsjudoka approaches this topic is the way not to appear racist or from the perspective of content creators, outrage grifting. He causally expresses that he thinks it adds nothing of value to the show and doesn't believe that the "woke" agenda is destroying the nation. His criticism doesn't come with the backdrop of obsessing over this WHILE ignoring countless number of times white actors played POC roles as a near everyday occurance from native Americans to Arabs.

I can believe that corporations pander to modern demographics for maximum return on investment. That's all this is.

If you actually cared for Halle Bailey's career you wouldn't want this role for her. The movie will likely be woke trash...

Alien was released in 1979 with the protagonist starring a women and a diverse cast... They keep lying to people about how women and black people aren't represented in Hollywood....

I had no idea who Halle Bailey even was until this movie and casting was announced.

    But, why do YOU care?

woke woke woke woke woke ... lol. This word has made half the country 20% dumber in the last 3 years.

Is this something a woke person might approve of? Yes? OK, then it is woke and must be rejected.

That's the level of argument we're dealing with right now.

I care because I'm a fan of Star Wars and LOTR, I see how wokeism is spreading into everything. Everything we like or once cared about. Sports, movies, shows, games even cereal at Kroger's now has a special lgbt box. Do you care so little about libs pushing their weird ass views and politics down your throat? This is precisely why its happening. Because few people don't care. I was like that too...

Right before the pandemic I had an office and a good friend and employee would come regularly with news about wokeness in games and movies and how the left was trying to take away our first and 2nd amendment.

I always asked him the same thing, "why do you care? Its just one movie, just don't watch it".... "Its just one game just don't play it." I always dismissed what was starting to happen. Flash forward 4 years... I was wrong, I didn't care because at that moment I felt like it had nothing to do with me. Now I do care, because I do see that it has everything to do with me. It has to do with my views, my politics, my beliefs, my religion, my morals... And guess what, dem's not only don't agree with them. They hate them.

It's not a lie. They actually pressured people to change the race of characters to Caucasian even when the race was essential to the story.

Famous story about Mississippi Masala starring Denzel Washington Mira Nair and Sarita Chaloudhury, where one of the studios asked her to change one of the leads to a Caucasian.

The director told the studio execs "No, but not to worry because all of the waiters would be Caucasians.

By the way, Alien was filmed in England.

Having her played by a black actress is "totally changing" the character -- are you serious?

Also, realize that people of your age group are not the target demographic of this movie. How many young kids do you think would actually care about this?

How many children care for a live action remake over the animated version?

Just speaking of Little Mermaid... It was a horrible message based on treauring superficial physical appearance.

I understand that it is from a tale originating in a different time. But it was an odd choice to make.

It was a weak offering by Disney. It was out of date the instant they released it. Any changes to it won't be a violation but probably an improvement.

Oh, I don't agree. It ushered in a new era of top-tier animated Disney movies: The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King.

Yeah, the story may not be the most progressive. But the animation and songs were incredible.

Songs, maybe. I don't feel the animation held the same magic as much of the older Disney classics. But I totally respect a difference of opinion on those aesthetics.
