I have watched a lot of Lovie having been in Chicago. He will have his defense prepared and that’s about it. He can win some games when his offense doesn’t turn the ball over. He is terrible at picking offensive assistants though. Pep Hamilton has for years wanted to show he wasn’t just a guy QB’s like talking to, but he isn’t anything special.

Lovie won’t embarrass the organization like BOB and he will likely develop a surprise or two in the secondary, but he is very mediocre.

This organization needs a major, major break to get away from the crap show they have been under the McNair’s. Lovie won’t be that “break” but he can possibly be the guy to keep them from being shameful for a year or two.

Also, Mills isn’t the answer at QB. I get why they play him, but they need to get lucky and find one in the draft and hope he isn’t a sexual predator.

At this point I just follow the Texans to make me money. I have no confidence in their ownership or culture.

He isn’t trash, he is better than most thought when he entered the league. I don’t think he is going to lead you to Super Bowls though.

Says u. To some folks on here our superbowl is winning the AFC South title. No way we can't win that with Mills as our qb.

We haven't gotten even close to a superbowl in 20ish years, Mills aint the chosen one regardless

This team hasn’t had a chosen one at QB

Is there a reason that why Britt is still on this team? Caserio couldn't find anyone.....I mean anyone that's better than this trash?

He was ****ing atrocious out there with his blocking....

Throwing for 4000 ain't that far fetched in today's NFL... Making the throws when we're stagnant or on crucial drives. especially when the game is tight, will determine if Mills is that dude.. Could've been a step toward that during the 4th.. So you can't fault people for not seeing it with Mills , even with a lack of talent..

Came here to talk about Britt. One of the worst performances I’ve ever seen. No way a Center should be noticed that often. He doesn’t belong on an NFL roster

I’d take the Oilers any day over this crap. They may have let us down in some monumental collapses, but at least they had ownership competent enough to have talent that could compete. I’ll defend Bud Adams against Cal McNair any day, and that should say all you need to know about Cal McNair. This is an utter clown show year after year after year after year.

I wonder who feels worse. Texans fans, Titans fans, Colts fans, or Cowboy fans…

Texans lead the division at 0-0-1 since no AFC South team won in week 1

I'm glad I only allow this team to mildly disappoint me once a season now, I can go back to not giving a s**t about them.

Failure is so much easier to digest when you know it's coming and don't get your hopes up to begin with. People can point to BOB all they want, this is Texans football, before and after he came. He was merely a symptom of the actual problem.

We intentionally encourage things like playing for the tie and turtling in the 4th quarter because mediocrity is acceptable. Had BOB not assumed GM duties he was comically unqualified for, he could have happily continued doing an impressively average job of coaching and winning 9 games a year.

Good point, Mills is doing remarkably well when you consider his stats for the last 6 consecutive regular season games including game 1 this year especially with what he has to work with overall (lack of running game efficiency mainly)…but the best thing he could have done to hush the no-see-it-fans is simply play better in the 4th quarter in game 1 this season. He’s on track to put up better stats than Peyton Manning did his second season if he repeats game one …great …, but he has to finish strong for that to mean anything…I see the potential to improve. I can see that happening but I can understand those that question his finishing ability at the moment. However I hope he proves them wrong

Mills is not a completed QB yet, he still has accuracy issues, and needs better pocket awareness, and the org needs to give him more TE and RB check downs to protect him.

That play call when he got sacked and fumbled was awful, why are we going deep up 14, we should be short quick passes and running plays....and for god sakes can we get pierce the ball on a swing pass so he can get out against the 2nd level players and destroy?
