So no one knows anything about Yordan other than he’s suffering from some sort of hand/wrist injury to one hand? This injury being of the type that can be played with, and indeed resting him would not accelerate the healing of the ailment? What the hell is going on?

Pretty obvious he needs surgery, but trying to play through it rather than end his season.

If he’s a .300 wOBA hitter playing through it then the Astros are probably better off having him get the surgery now and have someone like Yanier DH.

Either way, I don’t see the Astros making a deep run in the post-season absent some serious luck without a healthy Yordan.

Yeah Stros crushed him bc they were CHEEAATTING. Had nothing to do with those 5 88-91 mph ducks hanging belt to chest high right over the middle of the plate.

Just playing with the spreadsheets this morning. Since WAR is a count stat and effectiveness is often based on rate of production while playing, I have normalized the Astros' WAR to 600 Plate Appearances to reflect something approximating a full season in the lineup. These are currently active players only and data is from Baseball Reference. Also, the three players who have played for two teams uses stats for both teams.

PA L/R/S POS PLAYER WAR dWAR WAR/600 PA
    501 R 2B ALTUVE, Jose 4.3 (0.7) 5.1
    451 R SS PEÑA, Jeremy 4.0 2.2 5.3
    457 L LF ALVAREZ, Yordan 5.0 (0.5) 6.6
    544 R 3B BREGMAN, Alex 3.9 (0.3) 4.3
    503 L RF TUCKER, Kyle 4.8 0.9 5.7
    497 R 1B MANCINI, Trey 1.8 (0.6) 2.2
    329 R CF McCORMICK, Chas 1.3 0.0 2.4
    17 R DH HENSLEY, David 0.1 (0.1) 3.5

When you do your charts, you should capture a screen shot with them formatted where they are readable, then upload the screenshot as your post.

They are very difficult to process with no formatting.

I've never been able to post my own screenshots. Something about URL address. The only exceptions are sites with upload capability like Cointalk where I can capture and copy it through their upload feature without needing a URL image storage site.

But I just used the list feature a couple of days ago and perhaps one of them will permit copying from the spreadsheet while retaining the format. Right now I have to edit a lot just to make them as you see them.
