That’s because they believe it’s worth it.
People left Silicon Valley because they were paying $3000 a month for a rat infested apartment with no air conditioning. Guess what? Cali is in a heat wave due to climate change or that god hates the lakers .
$3000 a month on Miami Beach ? High rise. There’s a reason why all the rappers love that city.

Tech companies swarming a city is a curse. It's one thing to have organic growth from businesses that were built in the region because the cost and supply base can naturally adapt as businesses grow. But companies just swarming a city in a matter of years like this just creates nightmares when it comes to housing and radically changes the culture of a city.

Its great for the newcomers but its awful for the locals. Young people and renters basically get locked out of buying their first house and it creates an inequality death spiral as those with houses benefit from ever growing equity while younger people and renters never even get the chance.

In short, the positives don't outweigh the negatives in my opinion. States and localities that organically grow fortune 500 companies have much healthier housing markets than places that just import those jobs from other states. The effect isn't felt immediately but in Miami's case they're also dealing with the worst effects of climate change and they'll really struggle over the next couple of decades.

That picture hits hard lol, Just Imagine every car…every landscape company, everyone that pushes a walkbehind mower in Cali must charge daily and charge often in 10-13 relatively short years ..wow this is not going to go well/end well …Forget the fact that to live in a modest average home in California is just under 1/10th of $1 million…Not a city mind you but the WHOLE state as an average is a shade under $1 million for the purpose of a average home plus the disproportionate crime and other taxes …That same home is not a palace either in fact it’s the equivalent of a $300,000 home in most states with a lot less taxes, a lot less regulation and a lot less headache overall

I know California is losing people heavy but I don’t understand why they are not having a mass exodus like you wouldn’t believe at this point considering everything

The his dad of Spanish language music and a Russian tennis chick who I would have thought just blew him in between takes during the motorbike scene in his music video but can probably still coach handsy strip-mall developers' daughters gunning for a free ride at uTamp or Embry-Riddle I guess the Pile of Cocaine that Cocaine Built is probably the best destination.

Just like California at a point.... States urbanize and become more liberal for awhile then there's a slow or abrupt change and cycle goes back to being more conservative.

And Texans were told to conserve energy during the heatwave just a few months ago and I can't remember when Californians lost power for a week due to an ice storm or heat wave.

Texas and Florida have their own major issues like California.

Because there are already a shitload of high salary employers there. San Francisco isn't some magical place where living there is better than living anywhere else. The weather is decent, it is close to nice places to visit, and some companies got big there. Much like Vegas, New York, or Hollywood, it became the center of a burgeoning industry. Detroit used to be on top as well, then it wasn't. Delaware, meanwhile, has been a location where many companies choose to be "headquartered," because their laws are good for business.
