I have been hard on teachers unions and some teachers. Having said that, a lot of things have changed for teachers. They have a lot less control over what they do and not do, their time is accounted for a lot more now in a lot of districts and administrators are not like they used to be. I am sure there are schools somewhere that are not so regimented, but I can tell you that in many places it is different now. My son goes to one of the richest districts in the country (my property taxes are $14,000-$16,000 a year), so I had high expectations with his school, but the teachers really do a very good job and work very hard. There is very very little down time and they are not teaching the exact same thing each year where the teachers can recycle their previous lesson plans. My wife has a friend that has a son that goes to a crappy district, and with less funds. It isn't as good as my sons, but even there, were half the students are not from the USA; their time is strictly accounted for. Now it is very common for super intendents, school psychiatrists and other administrators to regularly walk the halls and monitor what is going on.

I'm laughing because you act like Trump discussions don't belong in a Republican thread when the party is tweeting about him and defending him and the stealing of classified documents nonstop. Hell, most didn't even have the balls to do anything but plead the fifth about the coup planning. Most of them still back him as their choice for 2024, and rally behind him. That includes Senators and Congressmen of the party. Until they all fess up, man up, tell the truth, and condemn that criminal they are enabling him to grift, con, and deceive stupid people. Liz Cheney had the guts, and then the party gutted her for speaking the truth, and calling him for what he is. That says it all. You won't hear anyone condemn his acts until they decide to run against him. If they do it then, they are no better than Trump. Only telling the truth when it serves them best is BS.

I honestly don't think they're the same. MAGA people are their own cult but Democrats want to lump them in with the same group as reasonable Republicans. It's cheap. I don't really have time to follow twitter nor do I have interest in starting. I don't know anyone personally who thinks the election was stolen. People posting random stuff on the internet is trolling most of the time. Take it with a grain of salt I guess. I don't have an opinion on Liz Cheney one way or the other. She doesn't impact why life so I can't lie and say she matters to me
