Good to hear this war is almost over. Europe can finally get cheap LNG and all of the bottle necks will sort themselves out.

Yawn. It’s tough being part of system greater than just one country or alliance.

Good job, Kremlin, keep on looking at the bright side of life!

Perhaps they are setting up for when they pull out, they'll be able to tell their people that getting their ass kicked out of Ukraine was actually a 4D chess move on the road to victory.

Over 50 billion to defense contractors.
And before the "not all of it goes to weapons" crowd, keep in mind other countries are funding too. Billions being pumped right back into the American economy.

@basso - The Markos Moulitsas evening update is str8 fire as has become customary.

    https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2022...ombined-arms-maneuvers-but-at-great-sacrifice

Going to flag this passage for you and the peanut gallery:

Would M1 Abrams and M2 Bradleys and F16s be better? Yes! But Ukraine would still be trying to learn the basics of how to operate and maintain them, nevermind the challenges of developing yet additional logistical supply chains to fuel and repair them. Remember, the M1 Abrams uses jet fuel, not diesel, and gets 2 gallons per mile. (Not a typo.) Fueling standard, more efficient diesel vehicles is challenging enough.

So kudos to the Pentagon for having a clear vision of what it would take for Ukraine to retake territory as quickly as possible, even as the peanut gallery wailed that “NATO isn’t playing to win, just not to lose!”

Kudo's for the government knowing certain advanced weapons systems won't work in certain environments? Where do you think in the planning and logistics stage do you think some clown raised his hand and said "guys, we better not send M1 Abrams. They use jet fuel and there is little in Ukraine?

Im not going to comment on whether the Pentagon has a clear vision, but rest assure if they do, its not because they realized some extremely basic logistical issues. Dumb article.

Germany's government pisses me off. We should be sending the Ukraine a ton more weapons.
