I think the reality is that centrists are not liking the brand of extremism and radicalized politics coming from Trump & Co.

The midterms is going to be interesting. I am not convinced of anything yet. But it appears the GOP has gone too far.

GOP registration numbers are up everywhere, and all the polling shows independents preferring GOP on generic ballot by a healthy margin.

Doesn't seem like the Dems' "fear of MAGA" message is working.

Democrats are flocking to register to vote in Texas after abortion ruling (houstonchronicle.com)

While Texas’ new voter registrants are evenly split between men and women, they are younger and more Democratic than before this summer’s historic Supreme Court ruling that struck down Roe v. Wade.

How many new registrants are Democrats? According to the analysis by TargetSmart, Democrats now have a 10-percentage point advantage among new registrants since the ruling. Previously, Republicans had a five-point advantage.

Plus, young voters in Texas are leaning more blue. Democrats make up 47 percent of voters under age 25, while Republicans make up for 30 percent.
Are more young voters showing up to vote, though? That age group had tended to turn out at low rates compared to other age groups, but that started to change in 2018.

With the rise in popularity of Democrat Beto O’Rourke amid his campaign for U.S. Senate, turnout among 18- to 29-year-olds more than tripled from about 8 percent to 26 percent.

Does this mean there will be another blue wave in Texas this fall? Statewide polls this summer found that Texas voters overall still view inflation and border security as the state’s most pressing issues, topics that tend to favor Republicans candidates.

The Texas Young Republicans is seeing record increases in membership and participation in block-walking and campaigning for candidates up and down the ballot.

it'd behoove you to lift your head out of the sand, and read this recent poll taken by the conservative WSJ,

Independent Voters Now Tilting Toward Democrats in Midterm Elections,

Democrats are entering the homestretch before November’s election in better shape than earlier this year, boosted by gains among independent voters,

improved views of President Biden (attributable to Biden's legislative successes, as well as the steady decline of gasoline prices) and higher voting enthusiasm among abortion-rights supporters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Days after Democratic President Joe Biden gave a fiery speech attacking former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies as an extremist threat, a Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on Wednesday found a majority of Americans believe Trump's movement is undermining democracy.

Fifty-eight percent of respondents in the two-day poll - including one in four Republicans - said Trump's "Make America Great Again" movement is threatening America's democratic foundations.

750k signature (far more than the 425k required signature) requested abortion rights to be on the midterm ballot

Michigan Board ignore the public and rejected the Ballot (with bs reasoning). After Kansas, no Republican would ever want abortion right to be on the ballot for the public to decide.

    Michigan SC overrule the board

Michigan Supreme Court puts abortion on the November ballot - POLITICO

The Michigan Supreme Court ruled 5-2 on Thursday to certify a sweeping abortion rights initiative for the November ballot, giving voters in the swing state a chance to decide whether the procedure remains legal or whether a nearly 100-year-old ban goes back into effect.

The Michigan Supreme Court’s emergency ruling overrides last week’s party-line tie vote by the Board of State Canvassers, which blocked the certification of the proposed constitutional amendment.

Chief Justice Bridget McCormack blasted those officials for that decision, writing in her ruling Thursday: “Seven hundred fifty three thousand and seven hundred fifty nine Michiganders signed this proposal—more than have ever signed any proposal in Michigan’s history. The challengers have not produced a single signer who claims to have been confused by the limited-spacing sections in the full text portion of the proposal. Yet two members of the Board of State Canvassers would prevent the people of Michigan from voting on the proposal.”

The Democrats aren’t taking the House. The odds are very long. If the Democrats some how manage to take the House, the Republicans are in deep trouble.

In most of the recent House elections Democratic total votes have been greater than Republican total votes. Gerrymandering is so bad that Democrats have to get significantly more votes to get the majority. It’s going to be even worse this year.

Kemp is fairly popular. Having said that there is almost never a large gap in Georgia between senate and governor results so most likely the divide is less than 5%, and Abrams is excellent at grass roots. She has really strong female support but has to do better with black men.

We will see what happens but she is very driven and talented. I expect her to finish strong but she may well lose.

He's on a very strict polling diet per advice of his medical team, Dr. Ronny Jackson, Dr. Oz, and Mike Lindell, Pill. D.

In reality, the "majority" of americans dont follow politics closely enough to know that trump still has an active "movement".

Even if that were true, they still know that Trump is a danger to society, apparently.

Her decision to run for governor again is similar to Beto. She's wasting the political power she built. They desperately wanted her to run for Senate instead last time around. She loses this race again and it basically kills her presidential aspirations.
