I didn't know he was this good situationally, but they showed a graphic on the broadcast: Chas has the 7th best SLG% in the AL against LHP (minimum XABs)...Altuve #1, the other names I noticed above him were Trout, Judge, Ohtani
How do they fire someone who's not under contract after this season? If the Astros blow it this year, it's more likely due to Yordan The Not Too Great. Please petition @Clutch to allow you to change your name. Your negativity while having Yordan in your name has infected the real Yordan somehow.
There are probably a few really good managers, a few really bad managers and a whole lot of in between.
Not a Baker guy, but I am hoping he gets his WS championship this year and rides off into the sunset. DD
If Dusty is in fact spreading lies through the press about an Astros players condition perhaps he should be fired without regard to the looming play-offs. I would certainly have no desire to play for such a manager.
Or maybe the player is lying. Should Yordan be fired if that's the case? Regardless of his tactical decision making, given that players have loved Dusty for 30 years or however long he's been managing and people-skills are his biggest strength, I'm pretty sure Yordan and eveyone else on the team have no problems playing for him.
The player is not in a position of authority over Dusty. Dusty is in a position of authority over him. That relationship does not really allow for free expression of grievances by Yordan. I myself was an alter boy as a child. Throughout my professional life I have been known as a sweetheart to work for. Grown men and women wept when I retired, but as I age and my body deteriorates I spend my days in pain. My memory is going. My first conscious thought on awakening is ouch! Suffice it to say I am no longer a sweetheart. In fact I can be and often am an *******. People change. Edit: That was a $32 swear word that got censored by some intrusive program. I leave it to you to make an appropriate substitution.
Chandler is a habitual s*** starter, whiner, and complainer. Miscommunication or not, giving his personality Chandler is likely presenting this as a much bigger deal than it probably is as and between Yordan and Dusty.
I'd say almost everyone else as I'm pretty sure there is at least one player upset with the lack of playing time.
I love how many people on this board know exactly how every player feels and thinks. I don't know how they do it. I just have to go on questionable reports from questionable reporters and be skeptical of all of it.
I I will say, when listening to CR on the Matt Thomas show, there is no love lost between he and Dusty. Dusty hates the questions and Chandler hates the answers. I don’t mind Chandler asking the questions one bit. He may come off as angry or petty but it doesn’t bother me at all. Media was always soft in this market so, I don’t mind his approach.
There is a difference between those, but they are not necessarily mutually exclusive. In this case, I'm pretty sure one is the cause of the other.
