I didn't watch it. All I know is this mass hysteria over kids being groomed to be gay is so damn ridiculous. I'm far more worried about kids growing up in a home with radical bigots carrying assault rifles and spewing hate towards "non whites" "gays" and anyone else they seem less worthy.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Teachers work extra hours during the school year, put in work during break as well. Furthermore at other jobs people can leave their desks when they want to use bathroom, have drink of water and chat with Co-workers in the kitchen or pause for a few minutes during the day to check emails as long as they can get the work done. Teachers have to be on top of it at all times or a child could be injured. Furthermore, there is way more riding on the job than many other jobs. Families, communities, and children count on teachers to teach children to comprehend, think critically, analyze evidence, read, write, in addition to behaving socially understanding what is needed for them to succeed etc. On top of all of that teachers have people who nothing about what's required to reach thinking its only a part time job and being generally unapprecitive. This is after parents couldn't keep their one or two kids in line during Zoom learning, yet teachers deal with 20-35 kids all day. Teaching isn't a part time job.
You use the word "Bigot" far too freely. Enough so that it loses all meaning when you say it. Food for thought.
Well, when people direct hate towards gays, or other cultures or races different than their own the word fits. I wouldn't have to use it so much if I wasn't talking about certain GOP policies, or GOP politicians or MAGA supporters who are ANTI-GAY, White Nationalists, members of hate groups, or racists. Every day one of them is inciting hate by spreading sick and twisted propaganda about people they feel superior to. The shoe fits according to the definition. Here's the dictionary definition. Bigot person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (such as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance
I know exactly what I'm talking about my ex-wife, who I put through school, my grandfather, dad and stepmom were teachers and I stand by what I said. I could tell you stories of pre- school teachers with cocaine habits that would break most people and guess what, by 9:00 am every morning those kids had nap time for an hour. I could tell you many more stories.
It wasn't a vote to ban anything. It was a vote against a federal law mandating that gay marriage must be allowed in all states, regardless of what the voters in those states prefer. Cruz is right, in that Congress has no mandate to legislate marriage. My older brother is a teacher and my mother is a retired teacher. It is absolutely less hours per year than my job. I get roughly 5-6 weeks off per year between accrued vacation, holidays, and administrative leave. My mother had about 15 weeks off per year between summer break (11ish weeks), winter break (2 weeks), spring break (1 week), and various holidays (about another week). She also worked 8-3 with a lunch and a prep period. I work 8-5 with a lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. Even the weeks we were both working, she worked 10 hours per week less. When there were major curriculum changes, she would need extra time for lesson planning, but that was infrequent and didn't add that much. Correcting/grading was done mostly when the children were either testing, at recess, or helping with the correcting/grading themselves. Teaching is a pretty good gig. Good enough that my brother saw my mom's path and followed in it.
Explain to me why would teachers need to steal young children's innocence? Young kids don't need to be taught that stuff at such a young age.
Exactly. Who are you seeing do that? I'm certainly not. I think you project far too much, which is entirely on you.
I work with construction companies and most of them would disagree with you. Are you with one of the 2 good architectural companies here in town?
I'm not discussing this with you anymore. You have some really warped view of what goes on in schools. How many schools and classrooms have you been in? I've never seen that going on, and I guarantee your hysteria is out of proportion. I'm wasting my time trying to explain to you that a child can't be groomed to become gay.
LMAO. You can't be serious. I could pull up just about every single member of the GOP party and copy and paste a hateful tweet but am not gonna waste my time. If you haven't read the news the past year there's a ton of discrimination laws being passed around the country against the LGBQT community. If you haven't read the news this year you might have missed a bunch of GOP politicians speaking at White Nationalist rallies. If you've been in a little bubble you must have missed all the hate groups at the insurrection and GOP political rallies, bearing their flags and branding proudly and hanging with certain politicians or Trump coup associates. The hate is real. If you don't see it you must either be part of it or support it, thinking it's justified, and not hateful but just how it should be.
My ex wife/grandfather/father and step mom were teachers, so I've spent a fair amount of time in classrooms. I'm not talking about being gay or teaching students about being gay. I'm talking about not teaching kids that young about sex. Be it straight/gay or any other sex stuff. Let young kids innocence as long as possible.
