If he sticks and is not cut, probably won't as FRP are guaranteed, he will be in the Gleague for most of this year.

I can’t take Garuba seriously ever since I seen him sh*t his shorts…soiling his pants with his pre-game Papa Johns for everyone to see

Is there any scenario whatsoever where this guy can average 15 points a game? Even in the G-League? He has zero offensive skills other than within 2 feet of the basket. I’d cut bait now and give the roster spot to someone who cares about their game. Teams make mistakes and thus far this is the only draft mistake we’ve had and that’s a pretty good percentage. Bruno runs circles around this guy.

I agree, we are wasting time on him, when there are others at his position that are more NBA ready. I know the argument is that he is 20 years old, etc....and he can be a role player.

Right now, we are NOT looking for ROLE players, those are a dime a dozen, we are trying to find those that are CORE pieces anyone else is just chaff at this point.

DD….found this in NBA Draft.net…keep in mind this was his scouting report before he was found to be a lazy a$& who has put weight on in a bad way:
Weaknesses: He is more a 5 than a 4 for now on offense because of his skillset … He is undersized for a center for the NBA level … Not skilled enough to play as a power forward on a consistent basis, but not big enough to play as a center … Needs a big with size and shooting range alongside him to be more effective on the floor … Shooting mechanics are inconsistent … Pretty limited offensively either as a power forward, or a center … Below average 3-point shooter with FIBA’s 3-point line, which makes it even more of a challenge from the NBA 3-point line … His low shooting percentage from the free throw line makes it difficult for now to imagine him becoming a scorer in the future … Has no in-between game, he will either shoot a 3 or go hard to the basket since his mid-range shot just isn’t there … Can’t create his own shot, he mostly scores on Pick and Rolls, cuts or after offensive rebounds … His low post game needs a lot of work, he mostly turns and shoots over his left shoulder, which makes him predictable … Needs to add some moves to his arsenal when he is posting up … Can be a little foul prone when his energy and aggression gets the best on him … Sometimes forgets to box out, thinking that his athletic ability is enough to get the rebound…Bigger, skilled centers can find ways around him to score … Off ball defense can be a problem some times, he can over commit on help and leave his assignment …

It’s not like he is taking away someone else’s roster spot that could be a potential. Among young players, besides Green, Sengun and KPJ, everyone is an experiment at this point.

Seems a bit premature to be discussing the abandonment of a clear low risk, project player, especially when offense is clearly a known weakness of his.

This is similar to the Jabari Smith assessments. You can't only measure 4/5s on offense, especially if they were not drafted only for their offense (or in Garuba's cases, his entire stock was based off of his defense).

If he plays he plays, if he doesn't he doesn't. Aint gonna lose too much sleep. Have way more rocket storyline to focus on.

Green experience part 2 or the return of Corey Brewer 2.0
    Kpj worth an extension
    Is Smith a star
    Is Eason a starter
Will sengun claim the title as best player on team
    Will silas actually coach
    Is tilman a cheap a$$
Does double d and Co. still pine for mobley
    Are we trading Gordon
    Are we trading kmj
    Will we make playoffs
    Is Smith roy

So many topics we can touch on. Garuaba is just there for the show.

I'm always going to be in favor of giving a draft pick at least two years, usually three. But him ******** his pants... man idk if someone can just recover from that, you know?

Yes he is, we should be trying to find guys that can fit that role that are not undersized, and unathletic.

Let's get someone that can play above the rim and block shots....as a backup big.

    Whiteside is still there?

So I’m hearing thru the grapevine that Garuba is locking Sengun up right now.

Garuba has been playing great today. If he stays healthy he will be getting minutes with the Rockets this year. Writing him off is very premature.

I liked Lowry.....didn't think he was a miss - just not a starter at that point, he became one, but never doubted him as an NBA player....not even remotely related to this.

Define great? 4 points 5 rebounds? Did he block any shots? He played 14 minutes doesn't even start for Spain.....I just don't see it.

I don't want to be the guy that everyone argues with over Garuba - I have said my piece.....if you like him....ok, fine with me, let the chips fall where they may...

    Usman Garubust.
Seriously whenever I have seen Usman play it looks like he is just running around aimlessly. I'm sure that's not the case. It just looks that way.

I watched the game today until Sengun fouled out. Garuba was very good on the defensive end and showed great intensity while in the game. I don’t know why he doesn’t get more minutes. We will see this season, but no way Rockets are going to give up on him so soon. It’s not that important to me, just think the talk of a late frp at 20 years old being a bust is silly. Whose mins will he be taking away? Bruno or Boban? He looks like he’s gotten himself in shape.

I think him over Boban is a given.
