I don't think you were serious, but it's not just the leftist making personal attacks. The right is equally guilty here and all over. The right is not the victim here. Unless you consider it being victimized by Trump. You just had a former president declare the current president an "enemy of the state" These are dark times.
I wish people would stop for a second and put aside their politics. We have candidates running for positions that declare they won't certify election results for the opposite party. That's not good for Democrats or Republicans. What happens if we go there? Whatever our politics are, we can't get to the point where effing with the election system is ok. You have multiple candidates who will do that now. It's gone too far, and we need to stop it now from going further. Even if you vote for Trump you have to see why this is capable of tearing this country down completely. Trust in the election system is what holds this country together.

Democracy cannot survive when one side believes there are only two outcomes to an election: either they win or they were cheated. -biden We have folks running for senate/congress representatives who r using trumps play book. All It took was for trump to btch and claim he got cheated that led to Jan 6. Now the voting process will always have republican skeptics bc they can't accept the fact that the republican way isn't popular. All trump did was just create more Maga conspiracy nut job bc he couldn't take a defeat like a man.

You can keep repeating that to yourself as many times as you like, but it will never make it true. I believe deep down inside, you know it. If you are all about understanding, then why seek to inflame and anger? Why not try to understand the other side. Do you not see the contradiction in what you wrote there?
Nobody has claimed doing any of those things is a threat to the very soul of this nation. I'm not sure why the person feels like they have to proclaim their innocence.
So what would you want Biden to say or do to convey the message he laid out in his speech? We can all talk about delivery, but I think he did what he had to do.
Attack the people who are behaving undemocratically vs grouping anyone who wears a MAGA hat as semi-fascist. Raise the alarm, but without the grouping. He can say, "We face a grave threat to our democracy, from those who wish to break our electoral system" He explain how it's being done. He can state the propaganda and even which politicians are involved. He can list the characters who are orchestrating it. But to call MAGA people semi-fascist makes him speech come across as political vs a rallying cry to the country as a whole.
I assume they might have also worn a MAGA hat at some point, like many millions of Americans. Biden explicitly included all these people several times in his attacks.
Do those people believe that our voting system is fake news as in a Democrat president could win by over 400 thousand votes in just swing states alone and they still won't believe the results? Then yes, those people cumulatively believing that is a actual sincere genuine threat to our democracy. Is that like an absurd statement? Democracy is only effective and sustainable when the people believe it's real.
He didn't really need to be. I would say 98% of MAGA Republicans believe the 2020 election was fraudulent. Does he really need to make an exception for like the 1 to 2 percent of MAGA hats that thought the 2020 election was accurate and trust our vote counting system? And he was speaking of their movement collectively. An individual MAGA hat probably is nothing to worry about but collectively, they are dangerous because they are a significant portion of our country there just gave up on believing our election results.
