There are many pitcher's duels that feel that way. There are many positive things about last night's game such as a great game by our WORST Starter against a GREAT Pitcher and GREAT BP work by relievers who have recently looked very hittable.
Major league teams failed to get a guy home from second with nobody out 5 straight times, and barely managed to do it on the 6th. That's not excellent pitching, that is trash baseball.
That's certainly one way to look at it. I loved when the bunting specialist for the Angels Bunted his way to an out.
Maybe, but it's still good for you. Truth is, everybody b****es or just doesn't participate. Some people attack baseball concepts and others attack other posters. It's a message board. It's ONLY good for opinions.
MLB.com says the Angels gave an elimination # of 3. But at the end of the day, with a victory over the Angels, we will have a 28 game lead in the division over them with 28 games to play and the tie-breaker over every division team. I don't see how they wouldn't be eliminated.
I'm referring to a few more innings than that. Like since August 2. But I get your point. The BP excellence is back and last night just confirmed it. Even Seth's outing wasn't that bad even though he took the loss.
Weird starting date. From 08/01-08/08, the bullpen pitched 17 innings and gave up 1 run. They had a handful of bad games in the middle of August.
Yep. Those were the ones I am referring to. I just chose 8/2 because of the trade deadline and the beginning of August.
He had a 0.528 OPS in August - worst of any Astros starter. And putting him in the 9 hole puts him in front of Altuve, which gives him the same benefits as hitting #2 without him getting as many at bats.
Bro. I just wanted to post the killer picture! But he's back at 2. That post could have also been: Maton got out of it?
The worst offensive starter all season has been Maldanado, and he has been batting 9th. It's only in the last month or so that Pena has been worse.
When is the last time Gurriel has had the day off? 1947? Simply amazing what a fixture he is in this lineup with his robust 41 RBIs.
