"In my administration, I'm going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one will be above the law." Donald J Trump Fast forward to Sept 2, 2022 Trump on his Anything but Truth Social site lashing out about Barr's comments about Trump taking all those Top Secret and classified documents. Bill Barr had “no guts,” and got “no glory.” He was a weak and pathetic RINO, who was so afraid of being Impeached that he became a captive to the Radical Left Democrats - “Please, please, please don’t impeach me,” he supposedly said. Barr never fought the way he should have for Election Integrity, and so much else. He started off OK as A.G., but faded fast - Didn’t have courage or stamina. People like that will never Make America Great Again! The last line kills me. That traitor doesn't give a damn about making America Great. He just wants power and money at all cost, and will lie cheat and steal to try and get it.
Ignorance of the law or incompetence isn’t a legal defense. We’ve seen the evidence the documents say what they are. Classified highly sensistive material including what they pertain to, human intelligence, signals intelligence, etc. For someone who believes this isnt that important you seem to be going to great lengths to argue about it.
It’s very telling that you have a former AG who defended and protected Trump saying how serious this is.
Poster also likes to refer the national security docs as envelopes to push the Trump hoarded only Christmas card theory.
It's because you are downplaying the threat to national security that trump poses hoarding classified documents in an unsecured area. When mishandling classified documents folks can die. It's not a nothing burger. There are no empty envelops, but folders. Focus on the entire inventory that the fbi seized. Your post. so if you're suggesting that Trump kept some classified Christmas cards, I agree that this is a serious breech of national security.
No, that best case scenario is not at all feasible. This isn't the first time a president has left the White House and neither is it a real estate firm changing offices using "Vinnie and Sons: Your #1 Choice for Local Moves." There's an extremely detailed and scheduled process that prepares the White House as soon as it is known there will be a change in administrations and gets the old president out and the new president in over the course of the morning of January 20. Included in that process are movers who know what they are doing with basic clearances and who are briefed on the handling of classified records, archivists ensuring records are labelled correctly, IT professionals working with archivists making copies of the electronic records, and so on. Every outgoing member of the administration, including the President, is given a briefing and reminded about their responsibility to continue to protect the secrets of the United States. Presidents also know that any gift given to them, especially from any foreign government, is one to the office, not themselves, and as such is the property of the United States. They are told this repeatedly. Trump almost certainly had to have had the boxes packed before GSA started the physical move. From the FBI docs, we know that records were stored with newspaper clippings and books that interested Trump. Also included were presidential gifts. We are rightly focused on the documents, but the gifts found in Florida are a result of theft and he should be in legal trouble for that part of it too. Someone had to assure the movers and other folks at the White House that the already packed boxes were purely personal and contained no records or property. The tell was immediately after the story broke the first response from the family was that Trump is a collector of newspaper clippings and such--there's nothing of significance in the boxes, just stuff Dear Old Dad wants to keep for memory's sake. My guess is the FBI has already covered the White House packing and move angle and if we get to a trial and see the evidence, it will line up in a way that is most unfavorable to Trump. There is no rationale or excuse for any federal property, be it records or gifts or White House furniture and decorations, to be removed from the custody of the federal government. None. Plus, he lied about it, refused to return everything even when faced with a grand jury subpoena, continued to lie about it, and is still lying about it after an FBI search of his "home."
Well sure. But when you are asking for folks about update and then ignore everybody while repeat complete nonsense. Then I just have to conclude you are just trolling at this point. The fbi didn't suddenly decided to raid trump for no reason.
Well, you ARE stupid, baghdad basso. Have you sent your racist kids over to fight in Ukraine, yet? Or are you just gonna fight that one from your armchair, too?
SMDH, first of all we have no idea what was actually there. Second, the FBI has proven they are not above using underhanded means to go after Trump. I am not saying that is the case here but their credibility is not the best. And finally he was the President who has the power to declassify literally anything. I am sure you will argue as to whether he does have that authority to do that or not but if they push this that will more than likely ultimately be settled by the SCOTUS. IMHO, This whole thing reeks of another witch hunt just like the fake Russian collusion hoax that the FBI helped to create. Up to this point Trump is the most investigated POTUS in history and despite what you may think they have not found anything yet. I fully expect this to be the same even if it takes a SCOTUS ruling. Also I do not remember you being so worried about classified documents when it was discovered Hillary kept them on an unsecured personal server. The ones she kept were not declassified.
you literally made a joke about spies being murdered six posts above this one. no it wasnt. you were responding to a post about CIA agents being killed. why would you lie like this when your posts are right there for all to see?
That's the best case scenario !!?? Leaving the envelopes marked "Secret" and "Top Secret" and "Dirty Double Dog Dare You Secret" to the discretion of 'Movers' ? That should be border line bad case scenario trending towards worse!! I am sure there is staff to take care of such things. The possibility of this being an oversight is minimal. Someone would have said something to Trump about envelopes marked "Secret" and "Top Secret" and "Dirty Double Dog Dare You Secret". How does the fact that government agencies were in negotiations with Trump and his lawyers for over an year square with that scenario ?
He's not bothering or want to learn the full scenario literally just throwing sht at the wall to downplay how trump created a potential breach of national security due to him hoarding classified documents in an unsecured location
Right potentially, it's way to early to say it's a nothing burger given that the contents of those classified folders are empty. It begs the question what happened to the documents?
lol. everything you say might be true of NORMAL presidents, but we're talking about a guy who didn't think he lost the election, egged on rioters on January 6, was in the process of being impeached for the second time right up and through his successor's Inauguration Day . . . and you're suggesting that the process of moving his stuff out of the White House went 100 percent according to protocol? good luck with that
Bret Stephens offered his hypothesis on that question a couple of days ago, I quoted the excerpt from that interview. His explanation makes as much sense to me as anything anyone here is offering
I didn't see it but it seems to me that many pundits defense of Trump are to find speculative hypothesis on how he could be innocent when even his defense team is having trouble coming up with a coherent explanation and they are continually shifting on this. Not a good look for an innocent man.
