I agree that it will galvanize people against him.

I also agree that anyone that is willing to put in the work can follow him now. But a candidate has a much easier time getting their message out to more people. That's just a fact. So those of his followers who get their information second hand from other followers or only occasionally look in to see what he's talking about, will be showered with it all of the time if he's a candidate.

His message can take on the added importance if he's a candidate. A candidate's voice is louder more significant than a non-candidate's. His victimhood claims will be different because they are 'attacking' a candidate. In his followers eyes, it adds credibility to the idea that people are against him, not because he's a criminal, but because he's fighter for good trying to challenge a corrupt system, and now the system is trying to shut him down. Candidates can make that claim. Non candidates can't really do that.

I can see the lawyer saying that since trump had a standing order that as soon as they left the WH they were deemed unclassified then technically she wasn't lying when she signed the affidavit, in her mind even though it said "Top Secret" it really wasnt.................Reeko, your right, how dumb are these lawyers, I mean WTF is she thinking

I cant keep there story`s straight as they change the goalposts daily

That info is more valuable to a lot of other people than Russia because of Ukraine.

China would love to have this stuff as well as Iran when it comes to intel sources.

Russia as well, the anti intel stuff ways and means is the valuable stuff.

Not knowing the law is not an affirmative defense. If she sign a legal affidavit that the documents were all returned because she thought Trump had absolute power to do whatever he wants and the documents that were actually still classified werent returned, she still committed a crime.

The problem with this is that the subpoena didn't ask for "classified" or "top secret" documents, it asked for documents with the markings. The smart lawyers who've analyzed the DOJ's process here have pointed to this nuance all along. The DOJ isn't building a case about classified documents (though they may end up with that too) they are building a much easier case to prove which is unlawful possession of NDI (which doesn't have anything to do with classification status) and obstruction of justice.

The really crazy part is that she is Arabic and if she was a DEM in the FBI people would be saying she is a terrorist or compromised.

I have to wonder if she is doing this for the Saudis to protect their interest because you know some Maga's are not comfortable about this.

Has he ever had a black attorney representing him on anything high profile?

What do we want them to say? Their client hasn't left them with a lot of options.

"Um, yes, those are many kilos of cocaine with my client's fingerprints, and yes, they were in the trunk of the Mercedes registered in his name, and, sure, he was driving the car when you pulled him over after one kilo fell out, and yes he denied that he had anything in his trunk, but your honor... um, well [feverishly checks notes]... he was just keeping it from harming anyone! He found it by the roadside as some school kids were looking at it. These FBI agents are just... you see, flinging it around, and that's much more dangerous to all our kids. Surely you'll think of the children, um, your honor."

Who is going to be converted that is not already?

Thats the point you are not addressing.

His victimhood claims are not going to be any different just because he is a candidate, nobody new is going to swayed by that and his continual victimhood status is starting to turn off Republicans, something you also ignore.

Trump has been saying that since 2016 it's not like this new or going to gain some new traction, everybody saw what he did when he actually had the power to challenge corruption, he just made it worse and that's why he lost.

We really need to stop acting like Trump is Thanos with 4 of the 5 crystals by every metric the worst thing that can happen to the Republican Party is Trump running again, even the RNC is trying to stop him from announcing.

In fact, you could say she's in the business of knowing the law, which makes it less excusable.

As I mentioned, I don't believe many people at all will be converted. But it is more opportunity to incite and inspire violence and crimes among those that are already converted. That's all I'm saying.

But it isn't really that important since we both seem agreed that it isn't something over which the Justice Department really has control.

at this point, they’re better off saying nothing because they make things worse every time they talk

And why do they keep having that blockhead doing the most talking? His other lawyers Trusty and Cochran, u barely hear from. But this airhead? They trot her out 24/7. She sounds like she got her law degree online from Devry law school

Can't believe that Fox News and the right actually are running with the 'messy doc spread out over the floor' story

    Even Jonathan Turley mentioned it

Must be extremely pissed with the DoJ publishing that photo

This is the Republican party in a nutshell. They never liked Trump, however the current voting base of the Republican party is batshit crazy and 100% behind Trump.

If one of the power brokers from a red state does not fall in line they will be primaried. This is bad for the Republicans on a national level because you get guys like Dr. Oz and Hershel Walker that will lose in a purple state. In solid R states the wackos win and Trump solidifies his power. Trump doesn't care if he is hurting the party as a whole as long as it benefits Trump.

They are taking another swing while Trump is down. We will see if it works.
