Yes... similar to how a mafia boss uses information on other people. It is extortion without directly saying it is extortion.

Trump really should have been a mafia boss in the mid 20th century or an American business tycoon in the early 20th century.

I still think the man hiding in the shadows is Jared. He could have gotten hold of something big to give the Saudis for that 2 billion they gave him recently, as everyone hung out celebrating the deal at the golf function they supported.

Yeah. I don't see how this ends.

Up until Trump there was a clear culture and road map.

President's were given the benefit of the doubt because they had the countries best interest at heart.

If a President did cross the line and they were cornered, they would shut up and go away in exchange for not going to prison.

Trump isn't that type of President or person. I don't think he will ever shut up, and I don't think he will ever stop fighting regardless of the odds.

Why should be stop fighting? He has spent his entire life doing whatever he wants and there has never been consequences.

He has been ridiculed and laughed at for many decades, and he has always emerged.... hell was President and reshaped the office, he is the soul of the GOP for now.

If anyone in the world feels invincible, it has to be him. I bet he doesn't even think he will pass on like all of us do, that he will live forever.

He is cut from the same cloth as Jimmy Hoffa.

“Terrible the way the FBI, during the Raid of Mar-a-Lago, threw documents haphazardly all over the floor (perhaps pretending it was me that did it!), and then started taking pictures of them for the public to see. Thought they wanted them kept Secret? Lucky I Declassified!” Trump wrote Wednesday morning.

LOL. He's running out of material to defend himself. Desperation has set in.

It's funny how he and his Trumpanzee politicians are trying to get the same rise out of his base that they did in the build up to and on Jan 6th. It's the same narrative all over again. People will rise up...and people will die. Seed them with lie upon lie...and watch the havoc grow and unfold knowing they can just wash their hands of it when it gets ugly.

Aight, I better see action from the DOJ then.... He stole classified doc's, indict and throw him in prison... But if they don't, I don't want to hear "Oh Trump is above the law" bs.... This is the best thing that could happen to Dems and Biden... The absolute best, if they have something really... Lets see it... I want to see the whole thing play out with Trump in jail.... If Trump does not end up behind bars I don't want to hear about this in the next 6 years.... It was bs from he start and they don't have $hit... Lets see how it plays out, I still say nothing happens and Trump wins in 2024....

Right now the best thing that can happen to Biden and the Democrats is for this to drag on for as long as possible, with Trump getting the 2024 nomination from the Republicans.

I guarantee you right now the Republican power structure would love nothing better than to neuter Donald Trump, but they have tried and failed in the past and they have seen how those in the party that went against him have had their careers ruined.

McConnell definitely wants Trump gone..... Lindsay Graham as well, because he can play ball with whoever replaces Trump and DeSantis wants Trump to bleed into the background so he can become the heir apparent to the Trumplicans and the Republican party.

At this point, from a purely political stand point, this is gold for the Democrats..... their own incompetence and petty infighting is nothing compared to THIS with Trump.

It's not bs though. If trump manages to not get indicted, then he really is above the law. It is against the law to be in possession of classified documents as a private citizen.

Folks aren't making sht up, Trump was found hoarding top secret documents in an unsecured location endangering the nation.

They literally have evidence of him hoarding classified documents. U now have the pic of it.

"it was bs from the start and they don't have sht" = what is the picture then?

Yeah it's like that TikTok thread "Name a conspiracy theory you actually believe in...". Most conspiracy theories are dumb, and rooted in anti-Semitism for some reason, but Epstein getting murdered instead of hanging himself.... oh I'm all in on that one. No I don't think Trump pulled off a Heisenberg, but nothing would shock me.

Regardless of the conspiracy theories, I do remain skeptical that the DOJ, and FBI would not seek any lever they could pull to somehow find an off-ramp towards indictment. How could you not? Our justice system isn't really setup to deal with someone at that level being put on trial. The likelihood of losing even in a slam dunk case is pretty high... and you know he'll appeal any verdict and it'll possibly end up at the Supreme Court where anything is possible.

I do admit though that I think Trump is giving them no choice though, and at this point he's just asking them to indict him on obstruction of justice. I think he knows that either way he can win in his mind. Either he literally wins, or get a hung jury, or he obstructs justice in broad daylight, the DOJ convinces themselves not to prosecute, and he gets this massive show of force that he is above the law.... which would be horrible for showing the world that we are not headed towards being a dictatorship.

At the end of the day the consensus I keep coming back to was how Republicans failure to impeach Trump was the original sin in preserving the Constitutional norms, and laws the way they were intended. If Trump gets away with it in some way, it's their fault much more than it is Merrick Garland's or the poor souls who have to have their lives threatened by indicting him for a crime like Obstruction of Justice. It's clear to me the answer was always right in front of us, and maybe it's not too late if the Dems win back the House to cut a deal to actually impeach him for good AGAIN as crazy as that sounds, and ban him from the power of running for office. If that threat is off the table this whole mess is completely different.

Those have been around for a while, and sadly for the life of me I can't think of another one to go along with them.

That is Trump's claim, though his legal defense team has never made such a claim.
