Great post, you just described buying votes. I'm thinking there are a majority of independents and a good number of Dems that will be against doing this. Why do you think most Dems that are up for re-election in the mid terms are against this.
Good then, if they're able to work, but are not willing to work that's fine. But when something bad goes wrong in their lives, say a flood/fire etc.. then they're on their own. You should only get what you are willing to work for in life and if they feel this way then they have to be willing to accept a lower standard, quality of living.
It isn't even that they aren't willing to work. It's that they aren't willing to work for what they consider to be a lower wage than what they feel the job is worth.
Where's the money going to come from? They will have to print money to pay the loans off, then the middle class will have to spend the next 20 years paying off other students LOANS, so in effect the taxpayer took out loans to put deadbeats through college. What I hope really happens is they make college free for everyone so that a college education will be worth no more than a high school education. Maybe then the educational system will change. This just in, not everybody is college material.
It was a campaign promise. Most Dems running for office are for this. Only a few have criticized it. Tim Ryan is one. I think the candidate from NV is another one. I don't know of a 3rd one. Why? Obviously, they think it's negative to their chances of election. Why would Biden do it at this time? He could have waited until after the midterm. Obviously, he thinks it's a positive. Why someone does something (usually, they do it because politically they thought it was good) is very different from what will happen. I think it's likely zero to positive impact for Dem (reasoning in the prev post).
a mid-Jun poll indicated that 55 % of respondents are for student loan forgiveness. A more recent poll in late Aug suggests that over 60% of respondents are in favor of it.
His numbers were taking a beating with the Millennials and under category, which is a huge chunk of the vocal base. Not following through on some action with this promise would've been bad news for him given how diluted his Manchin/Sinema-induced compromise bills have been with the Progressive wing. I don't like it, but maybe I would if I still owed college debt. Nah, I still wouldn't, but I'd hate it silently ...because Trump let all His Team Eat And They Didn't Complain or Object ****all When That Happened.
Why do you continue to say they have to print money to pay off the loans? The loans are owed to the federal government. The government just says ok don’t pay us back. That’s it. There is no money printing. It’s the same as a tax cut. No one is printing money they are just receiving less in future revenue.
The point is.... if you do some googling, you will see a number of businesses that made record profits during COVID, yet received PPP loans and those loans were forgiven.

Lance Gooden, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Kayleigh McEnany, a former White House press secretary for Trump. https://www.dallasobserver.com/news...ng-a-conservative-texas-youth-summit-14725962 By the looks of those speakers it should be a right wing radical QFest of propaganda, lies, and hate spewing. That's the last thing Texas youth need is to be brainwashed by those bunch of coup and insurrection inciters and election deniers who put Party over country. I'm still waiting for the accused felon Paxton to face the judge.
Not anybody's fault yourself can't make a sustainable income. Stop crying and wasting my tax dollars loser
Just a load of bs and hypocrisy btching how unfair it is for student loan relief. Didn't hear jack sht when ppp loans were forgiven, farmers getting bailed out, and Industry getting bailed out. The only valid criticism to me is that it doesn't fully address the issues of student loans and to prevent it. Btching about students getting handouts when saying quiet as a mouse for when the other populations get help is just being a hypocrite. Last I checked most students in the US are American citizens.
